The Salty Unicorn Cottage is ideally located in Gulf Shores, just one block from the beach in the Eastside Cottage subdivision. The property offers deeded beach access, conveniently reached via a nearby crosswalk. The cottage faces the Gulf and provides a partial Gulf view between neighboring condos. Guests can also enjoy scenic views of Gulf State Park and Lake Shelby, situated directly behind the cottage. The complex features a saltwater pool for guest use.
Pet Friendly: One dog (20 lbs or less) is permitted in this unit. Please notify us in advance if you plan to bring a pet. A non-refundable $150 pet fee will be added to your reservation.

• Vinyl flooring is throughout the home
• Fully equipped kitchen with seating for six at the dining table and four additional barstools
• Stackable washer and dryer are located upstairs
• Living room has a sleeper sofa
• Primary bedroom has a king-size bed and access to an upper balcony with pool and beach views
• Second bedroom has a king-size bed
• Twin-size bunk beds upstairs, each with its own TV - perfect for children (*Children six years or younger should not use the top bunk.)
• Parking for up to three vehicles located under the home (covered). Boats, watercraft, campers, and trailers are not permitted.
• Convenient keyless entry - no waiting in long lines for check-in or check-out

The property was convenient to the Gulf State Park (Gulf Shores) entrances as well as the beach pavilion and neighborhood beach access. There were restaurants within walking , or bike ride, distance. The property, and home were clean and well maintained. The pool was clean as well and based on us experiencing some cooler weather days, it was nice for it to be warmed. We would definitely stay again.

The main TV would not work properly, neither would the two TVs in the bunks. This was frustrating. Too, I had asked about chairs or a wagon in advance and was told there were none on property. I bought luggage carrier so I could bring such items to get there and have them.

Enjoyed our two week stay at The Salty Unicorn April 2026. The view from the condo balconies was great because of the empty lots in front, and it overlooked the peaceful natural area in back. The 4 balconies gave a variety of outside seating areas to enjoy the views. The pool was great and not busy. It's a short walk to the beach access in either direction. We brought a beach dolly to carry our beach chairs but a wagon is available. Location was great for access to Gulf State Park dog park, bike trails and beach, along with Sea & Suds, Gulf Island Grill, Surf Style and market.Condo was well appointed with kitchen amenities incl. 3 different coffee makers, ice tea maker, blender, slow cooker, etc. WiFi worked great. TVs and options for viewing were plentiful (a little technical challenge). Beds were very comfortable. Upstairs laundry was convenient. Management responded quickly to an access code issue. Check in and out was easy. Utilized free ticket from iTrip to zoo and dolphin cruise.Minor Cons: Couch was pretty lumpy. Need grab bars on exterior of bathtubs. Hard to open side by side freezer door because too close to wall. Definitely would return if cost and availability align.
