Sea Breeze Apartments

Locatia este la putina distanta de oras, asa ca linistea este deplina. Curatenia s-a facut zilnic, prosoape si lenjerie schimbate periodic. Foteini este o doamna foarte amabila si raspunde cu drag la toate solicitarile. Cu siguranta vom pastra legatura!

As soon as we found Sea Breeze Apartments on Booking, we knew it was the right choice for us. The reasons are as follows: we wanted to explore the west coast of Kefalonia this year, walking distance to a larger city, we wanted to be in the first row to the sea, always available parking space either in the yard or in front on the street, we were satisfied with the spacious garden where it is extremely pleasant to stay, especially in the evening, the apartment itself met all our basic needs, the bed was extremely comfortable and the price was more than reasonable. When we met the owner Foteini in person, we immediately felt at home. In addition to her boundless kindness and willingness to meet our questions and requests, she unhesitatingly agreed to wash our beach towels in her washing machine and even refused to take our laundry detergent. We would especially emphasize the perfect cleanliness and regular maintenance of the apartment, changing towels and bed linen, as well as cleaning the floor and bathroom.

The only drawback of our apartment, which was on the ground floor, was the slightly worse air circulation, so at night we slept next to the wide open window and even the door, but it wasn't too much of a problem for us.

The host was vey friendly and polite when she contacted me to ask about my time of arrival and kindly offered to pick me up from the ferry port. The hotel is about 10-15 mins walk from Lixouri, right opposite the sea, with a lovely garden with many tables and seats where you can enjoy your coffee, food, drink. I appreciated a lot that there was room service every day, which is unusual by now. When I reported that a hinge came off the bathroom door while I was closing it, they had it fixed within hours. They were always very prompt in their responses to any chat messages.

I stayed in the central ground-floor room, whose only source of light, view and fresh air are two large front windows (one of them part of the door). The room is in front of the path that any guest needs to take to leave the hotel. So anyone could see if you're in or not, awake or sleeping, clothed or naked, unless you draw the curtains. It was a bit like being in a shopping window. I do think net curtains will help greatly with this, but they didn't have any. I was told the windows are tinted, but that was not the case. So, when you want privacy, you need to keep curtains closed. When you're away or sleeping, you need to keep windows closed, for security. So when you return the room is warm and stuffy and when you sleep you need the air con, which is unhygienic. Furniture and fixings are old - apart from the door hinge, shower curtain was about to collapse and shower phone base came off too. When I reported that my mattress was reclining and my head was below my body while lying down, I was told the mattress is new and no-one had complained before, I had to reverse it myself, which somehow fixed it. I am sorry, but this was not a very pleasant stay for me, even if the hosts clearly did their best. The ground-floor rooms are not ideal for renting out. Maybe the net curtain will help a lot with all this.
