About this house rental
Gulf Beachfront with Private pool! Island Fever is a custom 4000 square foot Gulf beachfront home located at the corner of Sam Houston St. and Bienville Blvd on a large Gulf front thru lot. Island Fever has six bedrooms, five full baths and comfortably sleeps 20. Enjoy room to play and gorgeous views of sand, surf and sunsets! Well designed to take advantage of the Island’s beautiful views, Island Fever is a spacious two-story home, perfect for large families or smaller groups who prefer more individual space.
Island Fever is handicap accessible with a ramped entry and a handicapped bathroom on the first floor. A ramped entry has been provided for ease of access for those guests with mobility issues and the two eastern bedrooms on the first-floor share access to the large handicapped full bathroom. These two rooms each have a private vanity and share the large zero entry shower. The first floor has a large covered and open Gulf deck with and the interior open living area, dining area and kitchen plus 4 King bedrooms and 3 full baths. The southeast and southwest bedrooms are Gulf beachfront with French doors opening onto the Gulf deck. On the second-floor guests will enjoy 2 King Gulf beachfront bedrooms with French doors leading to private Gulf beachfront balconies and 2 full baths. In addition, the second floor is equipped with a large bonus seating and TV area with 2 Queen sized Murphy beds and a custom pool table. Enjoy the convenience of double laundry facilities with a washer and dryer located on each floor of the home. New for 2023 – 2 sets of Twin Bunks have been added to increase the sleeping capacity to 20!
Each bedroom, the Murphy Bed/pool area and the first floor living area are also equipped with streaming cable TVs, wireless internet and linens are provided.
Private pool added in 2023. Incredible custom designed pool with window to the Gulf - enjoy the beach view floating on top of the water or while swimming under the surface! This private pool can be heated for off-season rentals. A pool heater fee of $250 per week plus tax will be added upon guests request for pool heater service. Island Fever is located on a corner lot adjacent to a small public parking area on its east side. No pets and no smoking allowed.

The location of this house is fantastic. You have your own section of the beach and the views are phenomenal. There is a public section of the beach right next door, but it was never too busy. Overall, the house is nice and worked well for our group. The only downfall was the pool heater stopped working while we were there and it took a bit of time to get it working again. However, it still wasn’t working at 100% when we left. The property managers were kind and did their best, but that was a bit of a bummer for our trip since the air temp wasn’t overly warm. The kitchen had some utensils, but we also had to pack a bunch of our things. We enjoyed our stay!

We had 18 people in our group, and the house was fabulous for that. We were thrilled with how "beach front" it was, the rooms, bathrooms, how well stocked the kitchen was. However, the dishwasher didn't work and the dryer took literally 4 hrs to dry a load of clothes. Still a great place and location; we'd rent it again. Hopefully they'll get those issues fixed soon.

I traveled with my wife, her mom, my mom and our two children (4 and 5). We had a wonderful week overall. The location of this house is absolutely perfect. The house itself is spacious and attractive- we had plenty of room for our party and I could see two families staying here together comfortably. I do have a few suggestions that, as another reviewer said, could take this place from good to great. For the price we paid, I think these suggestions are reasonable:
1. It desperately needs a picnic table on the ocean-side deck. This was our 3rd time renting a house on the island and it’s the first time our house hasn’t had a table so we could eat outside together.
2. There needs to be a Roku connected to every tv. We had a family movie night and had to move a Roku from one tv to another. Then we had to move it back the next day. It’s annoying to spend time dealing with technology on vacation.
3. The towels were not white, as they should have been. Luckily, we brought our own towels, but I believe Boardwalk Realty should supply decently new-looking towels.
I would stay here again because we had a fabulous week overall, but only if I couldn’t find another house with an outdoor table.
