Spacious 3 Bedroom Beachfront Villa in Tamarindo Only Steps From the Water

Great location on the beach, liked the restaurant, friendly service and vibe. Seems a bit overpriced but, its on the beach and parking is free so .... We had a wonderful time.

What fun this place is. It is located very conveniently to shopping and so many dinning options. It's also amazing for access to the water and surfing and boating activities. And it's always about location isn't it? The location is the best and worst part of this bungalow. The hotel's restaurant/bar is outside the windows and doors of this place and that's just fine until 4pm. That's when the DJ starts playing and doesn't stop until 9pm. If you're sitting outside you hear all of the DJ's musical range. And as repetitive as that is, it's tolerable. However, inside the bungalow all you hear is base. BOOM, BOOM, BOOM...for five hours it never stops. Also okay if you're going out for a while to shop in the afternoon. But if you've had as surfing lesson or gone on any type of morning adventure and wanted to nap for an hour before dinner this is not your spot. We are old, 62 and 63 with our adult kids; 32, 29 and 22. They wanted to nap as badly as we did so that kind of sucked. The staff almost makes up for it though, so kind and so helpful. They are all great but I interacted with the gals at the front desk the most, Ericka and Catalina. They organize our ground transport to and from the airport, surfing lessons, snorkeling and a sunset cruise and they got us all sorted out and always had a smile. I highly recommend the sunset cruise but would skip the snorkeling. It's not at all like the Caribbean, south china sea or Mediterranean. No coral reefs, only lots of dusty grey rocks to look at. Maybe the diving is better, not sure. In terms of the bungalow itself, it's quaint but oddly not very user friendly. The light fixtures have those blue LED bulbs and the fixtures overtake almost all the rooms they are in. Particularly the master bath. There are some hooks but you don't notice them initially and you generate a lot of wet clothing here. As a result patrons have obviously used the fixtures as hooks and broken all the bulb holders so they are all canted at awkward angles and now sporting a range of mismatched bulbs...most of which we constantly unscrewed so the light in the room was workable. Otherwise what a cool bathroom...not too many places you can shower and listen to howler monkeys!! The beds need to be replaced and ditto the pillows. The exterior and interior furniture is a bit worse for wear but it's the beach and the cool factor is high. Had a blast but would probably choose differently next time. I love an afternoon nap on vacation, lol

Great staff, good food and drinks, part of a complex with restobar and beach front patio. Our teens/early 20's had a great time. Super beachfront location but bungalow is rustic and interior is dated. Recognizing that it is the beach, it was surprising to find crabs inside and a mouse that was so quick we were not sure it was a mouse, just a blur. Two of our crew spelt on the couch for fear of sea creatures. Great place if you are good with the full boho beach vibe, less so if you are a bit more precious! Overall enjoyed our time

Perfect location! House was exactly as specified and more. Perfectly situated as part of the Ocho hotel - bar right next door, steps to the beach and great restaurants and the shopping area. Right next to a food truck area too for getting quick eats. Food from the onsite restaurant was consistently delicious and quick! We overindulged on drinks, because they too were also amazing. From the minute we arrived to the minute we left, service was friendly and excellent. Staff always went out of their way to greet and acknowledge us and ensure we had everything we needed. They organized a great private fishing trip and massages for three of our family members on property in our house. Massages were also fantastic. The minute it started to rain they pulled all the deck chair cushions to ensure they didn’t get drenched. House itself is wonderful - beautiful deck to enjoy the view, inside was cool and air conditioned in all three bedrooms. Outside bathrooms were a cool touch. Felt very authentic. Provided nice amenities like toiletries, robes, spices for the kitchen along with plenty of kichenware to cook. Even gave us a yoga mat, which we used everyday! We had the beautiful pool basically to ourselves everyday. Not sure if that’s unusual but it was a nice added perk. Some of the furniture in the bar and beach area are a little run down and the lockbox didn’t come with instructions, but that’s pretty much the extent of our minor complaints. Didn’t bother us at all but I call it out only to set expectations. Felt very safe and comfortable otherwise. We’d certainly recommend this property to others visiting the area.
