Revel in the quieter pace of life on Oak Island's west end at Fountain's Folly. This fourth row home sits along the Davis Canal and features a floating kayak dock, with the potential for tying up two kayaks so you can hit the backwater to go fishing or paddle the Intracoastal Waterway! Welcoming up to two dogs per reservation year-round, this comfortable home provides space for your entire family.
Inside, you'll find an open-concept living space where you can enjoy a favorite movie together or gather around the sturdy dining table for a meal or board game night. Luxury laminate flooring and ceiling fans throughout and to your comfort. The well equipped kitchen has everything you'll need to prepare your favorite recipes and even includes a stand-alone ice maker, along with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances.
Each bedroom features its own flat screen TV for personal entertainment. You'll find two bedrooms furnished with a king bed and attached private bath, one with a standard tub/shower combo and one with a walk-in shower. On the other side of the home, a third king bedroom is connected via a Jack and Jill bath to the bunk room, with has a twin-over-double bunk bed and a twin-over-twin bunk bed.
There's plenty of room to enjoy the natural beauty outside as well, with a partially shades street side deck and a marsh side screened in porch with furniture. After a long day at the beach, rinse off in the enclosed outside shower with hot and cold water. Hang out on the floating pier to watch the boats go by or catch your own dinner from the crab dock. Guests may tie up kayaks using the cleats on the floating dock (please note that the tides in the area are variable. On average there is approximately three to four feet of water at low tide). A gas grill is also provided. and you'll find covered parking for two or three cars with additional two spots in the driveway.

The home was as advertised and we greatly appreciated having linens included unlike some other listings. Looking forward to returning next year.

House and location were great; just as described. Crab dock right on the water that we fished from and launched kayaks from every day. Short walk to the beach. House was good, spacious. There were several little things like cabinet doors, fridge doors, shower doors that were too long, backwards, weird lengths and were annoying, but nothing too terrible. Seems like a lot more thought could have been put into that kind of thing, but not a big deal.
Fees: be aware this house is owned and operated by Oak Island Accommodations, and they are just using VRBO as a portal. This is not run by an individual homeowner, which is fine. However, all the extra fees are not fine. So just be aware you’re going to end up with the nightly rental, a VRBO fee, and all the OIA fees, so this house was expensive. We would probably stay here again, but there are better options for the money.
