Great home for hosting five adults. Spent the long weekend watching March Madness and the home was perfect. The owner was very accommodating and gracious.

Great home - the kids loved the layout and “secret passages”. Made for a great adventure and something new. The home is equipped with lots of linens and space for everyone (we had 6 adults, a teen, and two kids). Also, the host is super responsive. Thank you for letting us stay at your property.

I rented this house for a birthday party (murder mystery themed). It was the perfect house for this. The decor is awesome, the house is huge, and the owner is super friendly and accommodating. I had 22 guests so I was at first a little worried about space, but we didn't have any issues. The back yard is lovely as well. My guests and I got to see a lot of wildlife.

I felt so relaxed and at home in the beautiful historic farm house. I was even inspired to cook a large Sunday brunch. Love the decor. Will definitely be back again soon!

We were looking forward to this stay, appreciating the opportunity to stay in a remarkable older home. As the owner describes, this is a delightfully quirky home that has been well loved for many generations. We enjoyed the stay a great deal, and would definitely go back. As a bonus, communication with the owner was excellent.

My friends and I were coming into town for the international cat show, so we had 8 cats with us that also needed a place to stay. The oldest house listed (this property) was the most understanding of the situation and they were more than happy to accommodate us. This property has feels like it's a lived in house that you are staying at while your uncle is out of town, but everything was clean and proper. If you are looking for a property that does not look lived in, I would skip this one. But if you want something cozy and inviting like a nice hidden cottage then this is the spot to go! Awesome communication and very accommodating to any changes we had. Thank you very much for letting us stay, if we come into town again we will be sure to book here!

• Vrbo pictures did not show the amount of clutter (especially in open closets), uncleanliness (especially in kitchen, where sewer flies were flying around the sink, garbage can, and small kitchen table), and bad odor due to water in the basement. When we arrived, a fan was running to try to dry out the water issue in the basement. There was a bad thunderstorm on August 23rd, which caused the fan to “shorted out” due to about 2 – 3 inches of water in the basement.
• Email instructions were not sent for entering the house. We contacted the host by phone, since he seemed reluctant to use Vrbo’s messaging system. He said there would be two keys in the mailbox outside the side door. On arrival, we found only one key, which he said the previous guest had lost the other key. Later, the host left us a second key. A keypad should be used on rental houses for security reasons!
• The house was not pet friendly, since there were clusters of wiring on floors, too much clutter (especially in open closets without doors) almost everywhere in house. We kept our dog on a leash inside the house for her safety.
• This farmhouse is almost 200 years old. Therefore, it needs a safety inspection due to numerous safety issues, such as trip hazards (too many extension cords; area rugs not secured). Floor fan was on wet basement floor, which was partially immersed in water due to storm on 8/23/2023.

Robert was an excellent host. House was very well stocked and very clean. Felt just like home. More than enough room for us which was great. Enjoyed playing the piano. An "old' farmhouse was exactly what we wanted and we would definitely stay there again. Excellent neighborhood. Robert was very helpful and available if we needed anything. Don't hesitate to stay at the farmhouse because you will love it.

The architecture and decor is full of history and the owner was kind enough to give a tour to tell us about it. I also liked the owner is super friendly and easy to contact if needed. It has so many beds and rooms! I loved being allowed to bring all 3 of my dogs, 2 of which are large breed. The wildlife was fun to see and the location is close to so much stuff. The house is huge for the price.

This house is amazing. Very old, quirky, so much character. Rob was very nice and helpful. The listing does show a dog run which there wasn't. Personal opinion, a fenced area for pups would be awesome.

This was the best place to play hide and seek with the tiny people and also a great place for our family get-togethers. Lots of space but cozy and warm too. Also plenty of blankets!! I was not made to feel like my dogs were a problem and we all felt very welcome in this home, hope to stay again

The Power Farmhouse is a cool, fun, and quirky place to stay. Everything we needed was there. Big rooms, comfy furniture, so much to look at plus a great family history. We slept so well there - good beds. Rooms in odd places. Up the down staircase! Wishing we had more time - never got to have a fire out back. Book it! You will NOT be sorry!

We enjoyed hanging out with our family here. The property has everything you need for a large group. Rob is an excellent host. He provided extra chairs & tables for our celebration.
He was very responsive for any questions we had. Even made recommendations for local catering.
The house had more space than we thought, very comfortable.
There was no dishwasher but that was not a problem.
Very relaxing comfortable stay! Thank you!!

The farm house is very big. Plenty of rooms to get lost in. It was nice to see the deer and birds in the back yard. We would of enjoyed the outdoors more if it didn't rain everyday. The owners are very nice.

Over all it was fun. It like going back in time. The house is over 200 years old. There where some problems with the house. The basement flooded with about inch of water before we came. The host called me the day before are trip and mention this. When we walked into the house bye the basement it smelled very bad. Wednesday, there was heavy rain and the basement filled up with a little water again. This caused the gas in the water heater to go out. The host did come and start the gas back up. The house does have character. There where a lot of old pictures and articles about the house.

Historic Westlake
Historic Westlake
We were visiting friends in the area and the location was perfect. The historic character is charming but the furnishings and beds were reminiscent of a dorm. It’s an eclectic mish mash of old and new.
I’m sure it’s a gorgeous property in warmer weather, but the space heaters (albeit a bit scary as it’s like an open flame in the room) kept the main level cosy.
We were a bit surprised by how busy the street was since the photos make the property look more rustic. But in spite of the traffic the deer came to visit!

Wonderful family home
Wonderful family home
We had originally rented this home because it was big enough to house our family. Unfortunately, with Covid, no one else could come except my husband and myself. But, I am glad that we did. It was much cozier than staying in a hotel. The dining room and living rooms are big enough to accommodate a family comfortably. Although we didn't take advantage of it, there was an outside fire pit, which would be fun for cool nights. The home was built in 1828 and carries its nearly 200 years very well. The owners appeared to be painting and some other regular maintenance to the outside. Not everything is modernized but we weren't expecting that and I wouldn't want an old home changed! We would stay here again.

We really enjoyed our stay in this awesome old house. There is plenty of space inside and out! Great location. The things that made it great: huge yard, wonderful screened in porch, comfortable tv room, big rooms, big washer and dryer, fully stocked kitchen, fast internet, cute garden, tons of character, responsive host, interesting history.A couple things I would have liked to know before renting: the stairs are very steep, the house is on a busy road and there is no dishwasher. Overall we had a fantastic time and I’d recommend this great farmhouse! We hope it will be available for our next visit.

We loved our stay

it was so wonderful to stay in the historic farmhouse. Each room was a new delight fraught with touches if history i.e. pictures, books, special furniture. Robert was great to communicate with. He responded promptly whenever we called or texted. Although the house is not in the country anymore, it was quiet. We especially enjoyed sitting in the enclosed porches and watching the deer. Robert had food available for us to feed them. My daughter is positive she developed a rapport with one of the female deer who let her put food down while Alyshia was standing within 5 feet. Sorry cant make deer do social distancing. Lol. The deer inclined her head and nodded so Alyshia responded in kind. I loved playing the grand piano. Of all the places we have stayed this is our favorite.

Great Home for Summer Nights!
Great Home for Summer Nights!
We had two families stay at this historic home. The home was clean and well stocked. Robert greeted us and gave us the grand tour of the historic home. We loved the character of the home. We spent most of our time on the screened in porch and outdoors by the fire pit. Perfect for a summer evening! The home sits on a considerable amount of property, so the kids had plenty of room to run and play. Deer visited every night and were fun to observe! It felt like we were in a country home; hard to believe we were in the suburbs! Robert made our stay easy and comfortable! Home is close to parks, groceries, shopping, gas and restaurants. Would visit again and highly recommend!

Wonderful Christmas Celebration at the Farmhouse
Wonderful Christmas Celebration at the Farmhouse
We needed a rental home partway between family members and the location was ideal. We needed to sleep 6-7 and the four bedrooms upstairs fulfilled all our needs. It was too cold to use the sleeping porch(bedroom number 5) so we will have to return in the summer. We wanted to bring our greyhound and Robert said it was no problem at all, there was even a dog run in the backyard. Lastly, we wanted to host a family celebration for 11. Not only was our ragtag bunch welcomed warmly, Robert had brought out extra chairs and a table for our use and even gave us permission to use his lovely set of china. Some of us even played Christmas carols on the baby grand piano.
The house was decorated beautifully and there was a Christmas tree just waiting for us to pile gifts beneath its branches. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed, from cookware to coffee, tea and pantry items. The fridge was stocked with water, juice and plenty of ice. There were piles of towels so no-one would ever ever run out and space heaters in almost every room to keep us nice and warm no matter how chilly it got outside. Because the home is old and historic and one wing appears to be an addition, some settling has occurred. The upstairs floors are not level and the stairways are steep, but there are banisters and the second floor is charming and quirky and not an issue for everyone staying the night, but it would have been difficult for our oldest family members. There are steps up from the side door, but there are also banisters and handholds there as well. Thankfully, there is a powder room on the first floor and the floor plan allowed us to stretch out and we utilized every inch.
Thank you Robert, for sharing your beautiful home with us. We had a wonderful time and hope to make this a new family tradition.

Interesting 200 years old
Interesting 200 years old
Enjoyed the 5 night stay in this spacious place. 200 years old so don’t expect modern. Bedrooms were comfortable and the home is very interesting. Had a new gas stove and newer fridge which host stocked with many essentials like bacon, eggs, OJ, milk, butter and pantry also had cereal, pasta, sauce, soup, crackers, potato chips, etc.etc. This would’ve gotten 5 stars except for the clothes left in the dressers and there was some used bar soap in bathrooms and half eaten ice cream in freezer. But the host was extremely accommodating and I would definitely stay here again.
