About this house rental
Formerly rented by the U.S. Secret Service for several seasons, we are now doing weekly & monthly rentals. Our waterfront home is surrounded by water and has ocean, island and lighthouse views on a quiet tidal cove -every six hours the tide goes out. Located on 4 acres in Cape Porpoise, a small fishing village in Kennebunkport. Our property is on the end of a private road so there is plenty of privacy. The house looks directly towards the water so at high tide you can take in the water views and feel like you are away from it all. We have our own pier and float on the property which you may use to tie up a boat -you can bring or rent a kayak, canoe or boat & explore the seven Cape Porpoise islands. A great place for kids to swim, or fish for crabs off the end of the pier. The pier is shared with a cottage which we also own on the property. The house and cottage are rented separately through VRBO. If you want both properties you can rent them together but they are listed separately on this website. The cottage property number on VRBO is 121128. The house and cottage are completely separate from each other, so you have privacy with more than 100 yards separating the two ( see photo) . The house has a fully equipped galley kitchen, dining room, family room and living room with water views. Sleeps 6. Three bedrooms: master w/ fireplace & water view. 2 full baths- one on each floor. Back porch & deck, front porch/ deck overlooks water. Sorry, No Pets.
Less than a mile to Cape Porpoise village, you will find restaurants, a grocery store, library and art gallery. It is a scenic walk to the local pier where you can fish or watch the lobstermen bring in their catch. A three mile drive to Goose Rocks Beach, Kennebunk beaches and Kennebunkport center.

Every morning and night we were greeted by a mother deer and her fawn. It was precious. The stay was very relaxing. The scenery was amazing. Would definitely stay again.

We had a wonderful stay at this house ! Lots of room both inside and out ! The house is clean comfortable and a true pleasure to be in for a vacation !! Lots of supplies and extras like cleaning supplies, blankets, dishes, and kitchen items!always wish we could stay longer! But can’t wait to come back!Joan & Phil are friendly,always available and helpful if needed. thank you both for making our stays perfect.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! A lovely older house with an incredible water view. The patio table out on the lawn overlooking the inlet was our favorite. A small fresh seafood stand is within walking distance and downtown Kennebunkport is a short drive away. It was extremely hot when we stayed and the air conditioners did well keeping up as the house gets a lot of sunlight.I would have loved a later check out however. I find 10am with little kids is tough and it would be ideal to not have to rush out the door. However, we wouldn't hesitate to book here again. Thank you Joan for letting us stay with you!
