About this apartment rental
Freshwater Bay is one of the best-kept secrets on the island. Your journey begins when you take that turn off of the Spring Garden Highway onto a private road. You first view the large Light and Power station and you start to wonder if you have made the right decision booking this apartment. As you round the first corner, there is a small fishing village with men attending to their boats and roaming chickens casually going about their daily routine. Your concerns heighten about this location, Freshwater Bay sign emerges on your left. Upon opening the wooden gate to the facility from the car park your breath is immediately taken away by the beauty of this place. The vibrant colourful flowers and tropical fauna that line the small pathway towards the lush gardens sprinkled with coconut trees which naturally welcomes you in. Meandering down the short pathway the beauty of the stunning calm ocean boasts of hundreds of shades of blue which is just steps away from your apartment. Now surrounded by the tropical gardens you are enticed to sit under the shaded palm trees to read, lay on the loungers and sunbath or sit in the Gazebo and watch the cruise ships or the local fishing and sailboats pass lazily by. However, before you get lost in just what to do first you have to get settled.
#6 is on the first floor and offers an open plan concept. The entrance leads you into the large living area which offers a futon and two large chairs for your comfort. The living room naturally leads you to the patio which is ideal for dining or just sitting and enjoying the ocean views. Off of the living room which is also equipped with a large 55" smart TV for your entertainment is the second bathroom. The Galley style kitchen which is outfitted with white countertops and blue trim is fully equipped with an electric oven, microwave, and large fridge. In addition there is ample cupboard space. Next to the kitchen is the air-conditioned large primary bedroom that boasts of a King size four poster bed and built in cupboards. The master bathroom is en-suite with a large shower. The apartment has for your use and enjoyment two garden loungers and FREE wifi. On site there is FREE parking in the private parking lot and a laundry room outfitted with washers and dryers for your use. (Washers require $5.00 bds coins per load)

The property was as listed and shown in the photos. All kitchen amenities were available and worked. Overall, we had a good experience. The only downside was that there was only air-conditioning only in the bedroom and none in the living room. We would stay here again and recommend it to others.

We spent a week at Freshwater Bay Apartments for our anniversary, it was not long enough! I had messaged Lisa asking where I could get flowers made in the same arrangement as my wife's wedding bouquet, and she took it upon herself to get the flowers ordered and she personally delivered then to the property before we got there. It was so special.First impression driving into the property along Spring Garden road beside the power plant leaves you a little bit skeptical, but then you turn into the parking lot of Freshwater Bay Apartments and it all changes. As you get out of the car, you notice all the flowers and very clean parking lot. You then walk through the gate, and get your first view of the ocean and you are left speechless with the incredible views. Then you climb the stairs and open the door to the apartment, immediately your eyes go to the patio and the ocean view...wow! The apartment is clean and spacious, and is exactly as the pictures have shown it. Every morning when you open the bedroom door, you say "wow, come look at the water babe". The Beach is clean and quiet, you can walk either direction forever! It's just amazing, and we can't say enough about the property and beach!For those that are worried about the electrical plant, we never noticed it and I wouldn't let that deter you from booking this breath taking location directly on the beach.At some point in our travels we will return!

This was our sixth and best visit to the island paradise of Barbados! We loved the slightly off-the-beaten-path location and the proximity to small local hangouts and the fish market at Pile Bay. The apartment was beautifully appointed, very clean, nicely decorated, and had everything we needed during our ten-day stay. We LOVED the balcony! Listening to the waves as we watched the sun go down each evening was bliss. And drinking our coffee as the island woke up was the perfect start to each day. We enjoyed daily swims in the ocean - the beach was ideal for swimming and long walks. We enjoyed the great Stade's rum-tasting beach experience, it was just a short walk south along the beach to get there. La Cabane restaurant (also on the beach) is a slightly longer but manageable walk north. The owners, Lisa and Chris were very responsive and superb hosts. We hope to return one day soon!

We had a great stay over the US Thanksgiving holiday and Barbados Independence Day holiday (sheer coincidence) - 11/27 - 12/1. All the positive reviews need not be repeated, they are all accurate. We must say that the light & power plant smoke or humming is barely noticed (if at all) with all else happening around you: mini resort with gazebo, loungers, stunning beach; cruise ships, sailboats, tankers and fishing boats for distractions. The property for us was in a remarkable quiet location immersed in the culture and still secluded by your private apartment. The laundry room is shared by everyone so it gets busy after 9:00 am so start early or late afternoon (3 washers ($5BD coins each) and 2 free dryers). Skip across the street for basic lunch or the light and power cafeteria (parking lot) for alternate lunch options which finishes around noonish or earlier. SeaCat Restaurant was a wonderful experience for dinner (get there early).
