About this apartment rental
Located halfway between downtown Ketchum and the Sun Valley resort on the 7th fairway of the Bigwood Golf Course, this beautiful 1350 square feet 2 bed, 2 bath condo has drop dead gorgeous views of Bald Mountain and Griffin Butte from the spacious deck with privacy wall. The soaring cathedral ceilings will impress, as will the amenities, including air conditioning, a washer and dryer, dishwasher, television and WiFi.
This beautiful condo was remodeled in 2021 and features a western motif that will delight. It features luxury vinyl plank flooring downstairs and new carpeting in the upstairs loft. The condo itself is located on the second floor of the complex, and is accessible only by a single flight of stairs. The master bedroom is on the first floor of this two-floor unit, and features a stunning king bed, soaring ceiling, and an en suite full bathroom. The second bedroom is an open loft concept and features two double beds and a single bunk bed, also with an en suite bathroom. The loft bedroom may not be safe for unsupervised toddlers or other small climbers, as the railings can be climbed and it is a long drop to the floor below. The fully-equipped modern kitchen opens into the living/dining room, which features cathedral ceilings and a built-in bookcase.
The most notable feature is the outdoor deck, complete with dining furniture and a lounger, which can be used for soaking in the warm Idaho sun or gazing at the Milky Way when the billions of stars have come out in the evenings.
You will have a reserved, covered, parking space for one car, or two if you park them bumper to bumper.
There is nothing but fun to be had in the Sun Valley region. Start with some golf right outside on the links of Bigwood Golf Course, or tee up at one of the four other courses in the Sun Valley area. Cyclists can follow the Big Wood River trail that runs north for 10 miles, and south for 16 miles along the Big Wood River, or test their mettle on the world-class mountain trails in the area. Hikers and anglers will have to make tough decisions on which trails and streams to choose during their stay.
The condo is located across the street from the Zenergy spa, and is within walking or biking distance of the Wood River YMCA, the Sun Valley Village, and downtown Ketchum, with its amazing restaurants, shops, and galleries. We hope you will come to love this slice of heaven the way we do.
Jack Hemingway, Ernest Hemingway's eldest son, owned this condo from 1988 to 1994. He lived here after the death of his first wife, Puck, until he remarried. His eldest daughter, Joan "Muffet" Hemingway, then lived here until we purchased the property in 1994. Jack passed away in 2000 and is buried in the Ketchum cemetery near his father and next to his daughter, Margaux, who tragically passed in 1996. Jack's youngest daughter, Mariel, still lives in the Ketchum area.

We absolutely loved our stay at this property! The location was perfect, and the view of Bald mountain was even better than the pictures in the listing, if that’s even possible. It was by far the best stocked vacation rental we’ve ever rented, with soaps and shampoos just like we have at home. The kitchen had every possible cooking device we wanted, and plenty of dishes and glasses for 3 meals a day without having to wash dishes after each one. We came for snowboarding during our children’s winter break, and while the snow wasn’t abundant, the mountains were perfect for us. The condo was an easy drive from both Dollar and Bald mountain's bases and despite being high season, we had no trouble finding parking. It was so convenient to drive back to the condo for lunch to enjoy a home cooked meal before heading back out for the afternoon. We can’t wait to book Mike & Kat’s condo again, we will definitely be back!

The unit is very nicely decorated, includes all of the things necessary to prepare meals. The views from the living room and the patio are terrific. The first day we looked over the golf course towards Bald Mountain. The next day it snowed all day, covered the golf course and the surrounding trees with a beautiful white blanket. We had a wonderful timel
