At first sight the house rather resembles a Greek chapel. The holiday house belongs to an Austrian architect who once chose this beautiful piece of land to build his refuge. The rather “extravagant” house is now for rent.
The holiday house AGERANOS is located above the sea with a wonderful view of Ageranos and Kamares bay, on the eastern coast of the Mani region. A huge natural garden property and the quiet and idyllic Mediterranean landscape surround the detached house. The house is practically furnished, sight-protected from the land side and opens up to the sea side with several balcony doors. The house is flooded with light, has a high vaulted ceiling, clear shapes and colours and a puristic furnishing that please the eye. The long-stretched room is separated into a sleeping area, the open kitchen and the adjoining bathroom. The partly roofed front terrace offers a breath-taking sea view and stretches around two sides of the house. It is a perfectly idyllic holiday spot that invites you to sunbath, dream and relax.

The house is in a remote location of South-East Mani. The view from the terrace is gorgeous and the house well equipped, but:
- the outdoor is poorly cared of and, especially,
- we had a tough problem of water supply.
Sometime, during the day, no water at all. We advised both the local reference person who did not show activity and said " it was normal in that location" and the agency/owner which, instead, tried to understand the problem. As a matter of fact it resulted a water pumping problem which was (hopefully) solved after our depart. Another issue was the terrace coverage expected to be present but actually was not and, in spite of declaration of the local person, not restored while we were there. Anyway, we acknowledge the property for a modest refund for these inconvenients (that of water for 10 days was heavy, indeed).
To conclude: if issues are solved and if the outdoor is improved the place surely deserves a vacation.

We very much enjoyed our stay in the house. We liked the design which allows total privacy, the flooring and the many windows. The bed was comfortable, the outside shower fantastic. The beautiful terrace was sunny all day and we could have lingered more on the deck chairs if there had been a proper awning for some shade. Although the road is just behind the house, you hardly hear any noise, so it is quiet. The location is great too with a small supermarket and vegetable seller only a few minutes away by car. The owners of these shops are lovely. We also recommend the taverna across the road. The food was excellent and the owner looks after the house, so we felt safe knowing that. Of course, you have a great choice of beaches. The ones we liked best are about 30 minutes drive further south. All in all, this house is a special place and we were sad to leave.
