About this house rental
Wonderful cedar log home on Lake Shoecraft (next to Lake Goodwin) near Smokey point in Stanwood, WA. 3 bedrooms, 1 bath with full kitchen, wood burning stove, deck, dock, 100+ no bank beach. The home features lots of parking, beautiful views, great swimming, water skiing, water sports, and fishing. The lake is stocked every year with trout and features excellent fishing. Included in the rental is a 11 foot Columbia fiberglass boat (similar to a Boston Whaler), three kayaks, one SUP, and lots of water toys and inflatables as well as croquet and other lawn toys. I have a couple of fishing poles and some gear also but if you are a serious fly fisher you will want to bring your own (the lake is stocked with trout every spring). Two of the bedrooms have queen or king beds and the third has two sets of bunk beds. Country store is just down the road for anything you didn't bring (and has the best fishing gear) as well as an excellent restaurant, the Paddle Pub. Also short distance to Tulalip Casino and the Seattle Premium Outlet Mall in Marysville. Free high speed WIFI.

We had a wonderful stay at this cabin on Lake Shoecraft. First, Mark was an incredibly communicative host -- clear, friendly, helpful, and responsive. The cabin is rustic and cozy with a lovey view of the lake. We loved the wood-burning stove and exploring the lake with the paddleboards and kayaks. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen very well stocked. The bedroom with the bunk beds is on one side of the house and the bedrooms with the king and queen beds next to the living room on the other side, so if you have a couple of families with kids, the adults can socialize after the kids have gone to sleep without keeping them up. The house is lovely and the owner is very kind and responsive. Overall, we had a pleasant stay.There were just a few small details that could be improved. Although the listing mentions a 6-seater dining table, there were only four chairs available. When we went to use the barbecue, we noticed there was some mould inside, so it wasn’t usable at the time. Additionally, the bunk bed bedroom does not have built-in heating; a small portable heater was provided, but it wasn’t quite enough to keep the room warm during winter nights.These are all relatively easy fixes, and with those addressed, the stay would be close to perfect. Because of these issues, I didn’t feel it was quite fair to give a full 5-star rating, but we still enjoyed our time there.
