Holiday Inn - the niu, Mood Mainz by IHG

The hotel is a modern trendy place with good furnishings and a surprisingly spacious room and bathroom and a very comfy bed. The wifi was fast and the TV and appliances were modern.

There wasnt anything I didnt like. For some people the hotel overlooking a graveyard may not be totally ideal, but the location is overally very good.

Not that far from Mainz train station, clean rooms also.

Breakfast was not included, and I found it quite expensive for what was offered. Considering the already high room rates, breakfast should be included as part of the stay. The bathroom was extremely small and felt very cramped. The front desk could also benefit from better organization and customer service, as the staff were not particularly welcoming and there were often long lines at reception.

Could have been better, if the hotel was a little closer to the Train Station. But currently it is in a very quiet Place. Maybe it is alright, to walk a little, to have a peaceful, quiet Night.

Great location and price. Walkable to the train station. Good sized rooms with comfortable bathrooms. Our room was quiet and relaxing with a decently sized room safe

They are a victim of their own success. The lines to check-in are long and slow moving. The front desk clerks seem to spend a long time reading and clicking keys. I suspect their software could be improved. It was hard to get a hello or a smile from the cleaning staff. On our last day we gave up waiting to have our room cleaned at 16:30 and grabbed fresh towels from them. On Saturday we went to the front desk for a glass of wine. She told us she'd be with us shortly. We gave up after 20 minutes seeing she was slammed with customers. We've stayed here several times over the years and it wasn't quite as quirky nor charming.
