Pistoulet : Réunions familiales et entre amis 🎂👨‍👩‍👧‍👦🎄🌈🚴🏿‍♂️.

Lovely place. Loads of space for us 4 families to spread out across the 2 separate houses. (Handy to put the teens in the end one on their own). Weather was very hot so we really appreciated the pool, the shade of the walnut tree and the Bluetooth speakers. A couple of extra parasols would have been great, but we managed fine. Bedrooms were very hot at night, even with the fans going, but it was an unusually hot week (32-38 C). Weather conditions also meant a lot of flies, which were a bit annoying. But we honed our swotting skills 😜. We’d been a bit worried we might get noise from the autoroute, given how close it is, but we could barely hear it, and most days not at all. Very peaceful - and at night we only heard owls while enjoying some amazing stargazing from the lawn. We love to cook so the BBQ was great & the big outdoor tables & chairs were perfect, so 15 of us could all eat together. Lots of kitchen space to prepare food, & loads of plates, glasses, etc. (A couple of larger serving platters/bowls & some large serving spoons & sharper knives would have made it perfect, but it was otherwise really well equipped with everything you could need). We didn’t really do a lot of exploring - mostly relaxing poolside, but recommend the village nature walk, the Saturday am market at Saint Jean D’Angely (fab fresh produce!) and a trip to La Rochelle (thanks to owner Paul for recommending Tonton Ma Boule for yummy artisan ice cream). Lovely stay!
