ABOUT ROCKLYN HOUSE
Rocklyn House is our delightful 1940’s sandstone foundation house, located in a quiet cul-de-sac with pleasant views over Moonah to surrounding hills & the River Derwent.
Rocklyn House is a 10 minute drive to MONA, Hobart’s waterfront and CBD shopping precinct.
There are some outstanding restaurants & take away options nearby as well as a supermarket, chemist, bakery, Valhalla Icecream Parlour, coffee shops & post office.
Other entertainment options in the area include mini golf, ten pin bowling, ice skating & some lovely parks with BBQ facilities, all located within a 5-10 minute drive.
Moonah Art Centre is a two minute walk away & has some wonderful displays of local talent on offer.
The Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens is only a short drive away or a 35 minute walk along the bike track which is located 4 minutes from Rocklyn House.
There is a frequent bus service close by, to get you around our beautiful city or alternatively the taxi fare to Hobart’s CBD is around $20.00.
We have provided a substantial array of brochures highlighting some activities & attractions around Tasmania, as well as relevant bus timetables, take away menus & maps for local bush walks in the area.
THE SPACE
Rocklyn House has been fully renovated & decorated with new furniture for our guests’ pleasure & comfort.
There are two bedrooms with queen beds (the main bedroom has a smart TV) & one bedroom with bunk beds, plus a sofa bed in the lounge room.
A porta cot & high chair can be provided, upon request.
The brand new bathroom has a luxurious freestanding bath, separate frameless showerscreen & quality soap, shampoo & conditioner is provided for your convenience.
The completely new kitchen is fully equipped with everything you should need to cook up a storm.
There is an eight ball table, 3D Smart TV, mini hi fi system & reverse cycle air conditioner in the double lounge room. Rocklyn House also has complimentary Netflix & free wireless broadband internet.
There is a fully functional laundry with washing powder supplied. Off the laundry is a deck with a weber BBQ, table & chairs and a large grassy back yard.
BREAKFAST PROVISIONS
For every booking we provide a hamper with fresh fruit, local bakery bread, butter, jams, vegemite, milk, cereal, Vittoria coffee pods & a selection of twinning teas.
GOURMET PLATTER
For our guests staying at Rocklyn House for two nights or more, we provide a ‘Gourmet platter’ consisting of a selection of our favourite Tasmanian wine, cheese & fudge!

Michelle was so nice. Check in was so simple. And to our surprise, she had provided breakfast options for us to enjoy in the morning. We were welcomed with a very pleasant, clean aroma upon arrival. Michelle has also set the heat for us, so it was nice and toasty when we arrived. Very pleasant stay. Will stay again.
