About this house rental
The Casa Castillo was rebuilt in 1998 on the part of old materials. From the outside terraces you have a clear view of the mountains and surrounding vineyards while from the roof terrace of the Atlantic Ocean with sunsets and a fantastic view of waves on the west side of the island. The house has 45 m2 and has a cozy bedroom to the living room and an open kitchen with view of the mountains. For two people with their tiled floors, Casa Castillo a comfortable home.
The living room is very cozy: In addition to a fireplace for those cooler days you will find books on La Palma's cultural history, local flora and hiking opportunities. A stereo system with diverse CD collection, satellite TV and Internet (Wi-Fi) complete the setup.
The kitchen is well equipped with hob, oven, toaster and all what you need for a great stay. A washing machine belongs to the house.
Special features Castillo: The most rustic island of La Palma Restaurant is within walking distance of the vineyards in about 10 minutes. There are shopping in San Nicolas and Las Mancha, on request be dropped off in the morning buns.
Mobility: We recommend you to rent a car for the period of stay. Public transportation is rare on La Palma! However, at least short travel is necessary for most activities. Be it for trips to the Cumbre Vieja or to go for walks in the nature reserve 'Caldera' on the beach. The island's capital, Santa Cruz - on the east side of La Palma - with its colonial buildings worth a day trip!

Enjoyed our time here very much. Communication with the host was very good and enabled smooth check in. House is a more traditional conversion of a typical Canarian Cottage but is comfortable and adequate. There are some traffic diversions due to its location near the 2021 eruption and subsequent roadworks but location is good for travel to other places on the island but also with a fine restaurant 15 min walk away. A fine choice.

Wir sind am 13.03.2020 mit vielen Überlegungen angereist, schon mit der Sorge, dass Corona möglicherweise auch unseren Urlaub auf La Palma beeinträchtigen wird....
Alles hat zunächst super gegeklappt, Check in mit Willkommenspaket, Häuschen genau wie wir es uns vorgestellt haben und alles schien perfekt!
Einen Tag später Ausgangssperre und Notstand auch auf der Insel! Kein Restaurant geöffnet, nicht an den Strand und nicht in die Berge.
Wir waren zunächst ganz entspannt in dieser schönen Umgebung, waren nicht im Hotel mit vielen Menschen in Quarantäne, haben selbst gekocht und gegrillt und unseren Aufenthalt mit sehnsüchtigem Blick auf das Meer von der schönen Dachterrasse genossen.
Der Vermieter hielt per Mail Kontakt mit uns, obwohl er selber in Marrakech festhing. Auch die Tage der frühzeitigen Abreise sollen nocherstattet werden.
Unser Rückflug wurde storniert, aber wir konnten gerade noch einen letzten Flug nach Stuttgart am 22.03. 2020 bekommen.
Gern kommen wir wieder, wenn dies in einer anderen Zeit möglich ist!
Die Eindrücke rund um das Häuschen haben sich positiv eingebrannt, trotz der schwierigen Zeiten!
Dank an alle, die das einkaufen auf der Insel und den Aufenhalt noch möglich gemacht haben! Bleibt gesund und haltet durch in diesen schwierigen Zeiten!
