However, the host strictly disallowed this without negotiation. It's important to note that this policy wasn't explicitly stated anywhere prior to my booking. This situation resulted in a wasted booking fee and necessitated an expensive, last-minute alternative accommodation. I advise future guests to clarify such policies directly with the host before booking.
