Hangzhou Moju Boutique Guesthouse at the West Lake

Stayed here during early April and the weather was cooling with occasional showers. The location is right in the middle of a very friendly and quiet town. Everywhere you go, the villagers will smile and answer any questions that you may have. It is within 5 mins walk to the forestry area where there are beautiful tall trees and streams and fresh air and people laughing, I totally loved it! You can also walked to the Longjing town via the forest park but it will take 60-75 mins depending on your speed. The Mojo is surrounded by tea plantations and it is very beautiful and calm, you can sit there for the whole day and do nothing. The staff at Mojo is also very friendly. We chatted with them everyday during breakfast and they served mainly whole food, with vegetables right from their garden. Their Coffee is cafe standard, double like! They have a common washing machine that you can use but no dryer, you will have to hang dry your clothes on the rack. Overall, very comfortable and happy with the service.

The Mojo is located on top of a steep slope, I brought my old parents along for this trip and they complained about climbing up and down the steep steps everyday. We also had to carry our luggages up the steps, which can be a killer. The staffs at Mojo came to help us during check in and check out, they are really nice. I will not recommend to anyone traveling with older folks who have knee problems or children who are still in strollers. Then again, due to the structure of the old town, a lot of BnB and Boutique hotels there have similar issues, you can’t run away from steps so please plan well before you go. While the room is clean, it is very woody and thus, there is a lot of dampness in the room. I am very sensitive to smell and I was abit uncomfortable. This village also has very narrow roads, it is tough when there are two cars traveling on the same path, you will need to cater for more time as there will likely be a jam if you are calling for didi ride.

Everything, the place was perfectly located, super clean, the host were adorable and super accommodating, and the view from the bedroom was breathtaking. Just perfect!

Locatie, interieur, personeel en heerlijke koffie. Bij de receptie/horecagedeelte verkopen ze prachtige zijden sjaaltjes en handbeschilderde mokken. Leuk om aan jezelf of een ander als cadeau te geven.

Er was geen wasmachine aanwezig in de kamer terwijl dit wel aangegeven was. Maar personeel heeft onze was gedaan wat heel fijn was.

Beautiful guest house surrounded by beautiful tea village; Spacious and well designed rooms; great location being right in the heart of the tea village and west lake district with lots of walks and eatery nearby; the host and her team are exceptionally brilliant at making us feel comfortable. They really looked after us and catered to every need and beyond. Proper coffee and great breakfast provided.
