Villa Colonya Jaume-3 bedrooms, private pool near Pollensa

The location was excellent, stunning views from all directions outside the villa. Very spacious areas outside the villa and around the pool. Drive way was very large and covered area for car parking. Good shower and second toilet near the pool.

The kitchen kettle was on the small side and looked fairly worn out. The kitchen lights weren’t sufficient, so cooking was slightly tricky in the evening. The bathroom was a little cramped, but sufficient. The bedrooms were on the small side and bed mattress fairly firm.

The location was excellent, and the outside area of the villa was fantastic. The pool is lovely and big and is surrounded by a fab patio area with plenty of seating and sun-loungers. The surrounding gardens are also fab, and the views fantastic from every angle. The outdoor kitchen is also a real bonus.

The villa is basic which is fine, but it is really lacking in some areas. The kitchen is poorly equipped, not even a proper knife to chop vegetables etc and no BBQ equipment to speak of, we had to make do with a set of ice tongs and a skewer. The villa also suffers from damp, I am sure later in the season this is not an issue, but it was rather damp and musty smelling in May. Talking of smells the kitchen obviously has a drainage issue somewhere, if left for an hour or so unused it really smells. I think it may have something to do with the drain connection for the dishwasher not sure, but it does honk! We also had an issue with the water supply disappearing on the last couple of nights. This was to do with the water pump electrics tripping - not a problem if you discover the switch, but annoying if not. Lastly the washing machine, it works absolutely fine, but be prepared for the noise, I am really not overstating that it sounds like a jet landing indoors when spinning - honestly! One last thing, nothing is provided, not even a washing cloth/sponge or grain of salt, 3 tea towels and a couple of toilet rolls, but absolutely nothing else.

Ideally situated outside of Pollença but within comfortable walking distance. The surrounding countryside is staggeringly beautiful.

The kitchen has plumbing issues and the smell was particularly unpleasant. We were given excuses from both the agent and the owner that it would all be fine and it was just the property had been shut for the winter. We soon realised this was not the case, and the smell persisted the entire stay. The owners offered us half a can of air freshener which was obviously useless. It really tainted our stay. It was not a nice place to prepare food and we didn’t feel the agency or owners were very bothered.
