About this villa rental
Sheltered from the Meltemi in the calm Pagasitiko Gulf lies the pretty fishing village of Mitzella. Completely off the beaten track and unknown to the vast majority of foreigners, Mitzella takes one back several decades to a time when Greece was a quieter, simpler place. Across the bay rise the mountain ranges of Pelion and the island of Skiathos; the wonders of Meteora are just over an hour away, as is Thermopylae, the Byzantine glories of Salonika are 2 ½ hours away, Delphi is a short trip by car. This is an opportunity to explore a beautiful and lesser known part of Greece. The property, which consists of a main house and a guest cottage, is set in terraced grounds dropping down to the sea, where guests are offered two jetties; a wooden one for boats to dock at and a concrete one dressed with deckchairs and a lovely shaded area with cushioned seating. A tiny sandy beach next to the jetty is great for small children, while other small, shingle beaches are accessed along a footpath. The house also has a pool surrounded by lawn, a tennis court and a speedboat. Designed to follow the contour of the hill on which it is built, the villa offers spacious rooms, terraces and balconies galore and above all, lovely views of the water and beach 30m below. Steps lead down through the garden to the pool, and then continue down to the shore. Wrap around terraces offer different seating, eating and lazing areas for a large group of people.The villa has just been extensively renovated, though keeping the original concept that preserves the Pelion style of hand-made roof-tiles, whitewashed walls, wooden balconies and ceilings, and stone floors. The space, privacy and proximity to the sea make this an ideal house for relaxing with family or friends.
Amenities: Pool, Beach pavilion, Beach shower Jetty and waterfront with private sandy beach. Small RIB 10 hp for 4 people to be used in the bay.
RIB for daily cruises (6-7 people). Skipper and fuel at extra cost.
A licensed English-speaking physiotherapist can come to the villa to do massages (minimum 2 persons a day) Price upon request.
There are 2 massage tables at the house that can be set up by the sea or on the balcony .
Tennis court with Professional Tennis instructor available upon request.
Change of linen twice a week
Professional Chef and local cooks available.
Air conditioning units and ceiling fans in all bedrooms.
WiFi for Internet connection which works all over the house.
Satellite TV in the living room, flat screen TV's in the Master suite and 2 small televisions with local TV channels in 2 guest rooms.
Safes in some wardrobe closets for valuables.
The house is fully secured with out-door video surveillance cameras and an alarm system.
Villa Polyxena has a maximum guest policy of 12 people.
We have a large array of water toys available upon request at an additional rate.
