Horseshoe

We have just arrived home from a refreshishing stay at horseshoe cottage. It was so peaceful and relaxing to be able to take time out from our busy lives. The cottage was comfortable and clean and had everything we needed. We enjoyed our stay there.

There wasn't anything we didn't like.

It was one of the best breaks we’ve had. The cottage was lovely, the location beautiful. Great to get out and visit lots of National Trusts sites like Sutton Hoo etc. We had everything we needed, a home from home, the kids loved the games room and enjoyed seeing Deer, various birds and hearing an Owl of a night. 4 days was not enough, we could have stayed for a week!

We ended up using the unsecured WiFi which was fine for our purposes as the password for the secure WiFi in the cottage guide book didn’t work. The only thing we would say that would make it more perfect is if there were tiles in the living room/kitchen instead of laminate. We were very conscious of the floor getting wet and we were wiping it constantly.

It was very comfortable, everything we could wish for. Lovely and warm and a delightful setting. Sofa and the bed very comfortable. Only downer was the fridge was having a problem staying closed!

Nothing not to like

The cottages and quiet location and surroundings with the lake and gardens were beautiful, totally idyllic! The advantage of the games room and small play area were a bonus for our granddaughter. The basic welcome pack was brilliant, plus the washing up facilities an advantage. There was a BBQ area (which we didn't use) but available with logs. Ample parking. The beds were extremely comfortable and with good linen and towels.

The cottages were totally remote so would have been more prepared to take a bigger food supply if we had known. The pub was closed on the Monday and no shops anywhere near, so it was a trip into Aldeburgh to Tesco and Coop along very windy roads - not great when it was dark! Actually we were never sure if and when the pub did open! The main bedroom was good, second twin room quite small and with no hanging space other than behind door. The kitchen utensils were limited, ok for a short stay, longer stay could have been difficult for cooking for 4 people.
