Well appointed accommodation in heart of Bakewell

The location - v close to the centre of Bakewell. The contact with the owner of the property - helpful messages before our arrival Warm comfortable accommodation. Tea, coffee & sugar provided.

Coffee machine didn't work brilliantly. Sofa bed a little uncomfortable to sit on. No shower gel.

Lovely place in the heart of the town, all facilities you need for a cosy stay. We stayed for new year which was perfect for night out in town and only 5 mins walk home.

It is quite pricey for 2 nights and there are other cheaper altetnatives in Bakewell for 2 people, but if you go in a group it would be more reasonable price wise as there is also a sofa bed.

Amazing as we visit Bakewell 3 times a year to visit locals we have met over 13 years of visiting

Location on the level, no hills also bathroom and bedroom on ground floor so much better for a guest with mobility issues. The parking space is right by front door. It was so cosy and warm to stay in for December. I stayed before and could hear road noise from ground floor bedroom but issue has been resolved with secondary glazing.

Beautiful property in excellent location. Very helpful and friendly host. Everything what we needed. Logs for the fire and the fire was all ready to light. Lovely and warm with underfloor heating. Comfy beds. Would recommend.

location is superb

apartment was too small for 6 people, one bathroom, dirty towels, dirty house, the extra "bed" in the living room is not suitable for 2 people and in addition it was broken. for 2 people- prefect (if it was more clean). for 4- acceptable. for 6- not suitable.

Perfect place to stay when in Bakewell.

Prior to our stay the communication from James the owner was first class. Great location, slap bang in the middle of Bakewell and everything was near by - shops, places to eat, pubs, walks etc. The Stables was finished to a very high standard, modern and comfortable, with off road parking for two cars, which was a massive bonus.

Weekend Break with friends

The location is perfect, car parking on site. The cottage was immaculate, The host was very helpful. Will definitely be using this cottage again.

Beautiful property

Very clean and attractive property. Lots of nice touches to make it feel like a home from home. Great support and communication from the host. Well equipped. Having a parking space was great.

The only thing which we struggled with was traffic noise from the road outside. We slept better the 2nd night, so maybe we were unlucky the first night .

A very good location for seeing Bakewell and the surrounding areas.

The location was great once we'd worked out where it actually was (host assisted) because of two different addresses given before arriving. Parking at the door was a great benefit. The interior was adequate - no major problems - see below.

The single beds were definitely uncomfortable, probably more suitable for lightweight children. I doubled up a big duvet to cover the mattress. The one upstairs was fine, I think. The pull out sofabed was not comfortable for sitting really, but the other sofa was perfectly fine.

Lovely spot to explore on foot, or by car

Lots of little touches, like tea and coffee etc. Games, and books. Lovely location too.

There was no information that the basics were provided, including towels, so we brought tea, coffee, washing up liquid, towels etc. with us. No other criticism really.

Lovely stay with family.

Thé cottage was lovely and right in the centre of Bakewell so ideal spot.

Sadly there was a few issues we had nothing major but just for future visits. No cover on ironing board. Downstairs bedroom is very cold and the window doesn’t shut properly. Is on a very busy road so traffic noise is loud. Some dishes where left dirty in cupboard from previous people. Limited hot water the first night. We’ve didnt have matches for the fire so we’ve bought some and left for the next family. No guest book or instructions and a little welcome pack would be a added bonus.

Enjoyable

Great location, clean & cosy. Facilities good. Parking outside the door.

Checkout was 10am (which isn't easy with a toddler!) and the host called us before we arrived to make sure we would be out and parking vacated by that time, which I found disappointing. 11am would be much more acceptable. Quite noisy as next to the road, but that's to be expected in Bakewell. Towels were thin and rough. Mattresses on single beds were very hard.

Cozy new year break

Excellent location close to the centre of Bakewell & with parking. The Stables was lovely & cosy when we arrived which was lovely since the weather wasn’t so good. The property is spotless clean & modern & the wood burner was very nice. The bed was very comfortable & generally I thought they had made great use of the space.We would not hesitate to stop here again.

If I’m being really picky just a couple of things would make it absolutely perfect. The towels are flat & small (could do with some lovely big fluffy ones) I brought my own as I had seen a comment about them. The nespresso machine could have done with instructions as I wasn’t familiar with it & had no idea what the different colour capsule’s were. Maybe a small welcome pack eg milk. There is noise from the road but what do you expect so close to Bakewell & it didn’t really bother us but there is a street lamp right outside the bedroom so a blackout blind might be an idea at some point it. These are all little things that wouldn’t in any way stop me from coming back but would just enhance our stay even more.

The location was perfect! We loved being able to walk into town throughout the day. The space also had everything we needed for our stay. Our kids loved all of the games in the living room. The rooms were comfortable and everything was very clean.

Perfect for anyone who needs a base from which to explore Bakewell and its beautiful surroundings.

Well presented, warm and cosy. Had all the facilities we needed and the beds were comfortable. Log fire and underfloor heating were perfect for the time of year.The location was excellent with the centre of Bakewell on our doorstep. Our host James was incredibly helpful and made sure we had everything we needed.

Excellent place with great location - some improvements would make it perfect.

Excellent location, bful decor and very well equipped place. Has everything you'd typically need except a few things noted below.

- Get very stuffy & uncomfortable as there's a lack of ventilation. Directly on main road so can't open windows. - No shower gel or shampoo provided. On asking I was told we need to get ours - not a big deal but good to be told earlier. - can't keep bags anytime after the checkout at 10. Need to look for some other place to deposit.

Exceptional

We used the Stables for 2 nights to celebrate our wedding. My now wife stayed over one night with our girls before the next night we were reunited as a family to celebrate our marriage. The rooms were beautiful, especially the main bedroom upstairs. The twin room as great and the sofa bed was easy to use. The kitchen was well equipped and the bathroom was superb. Especially with the underfloor heating.

Nothing of note. A garden with the property would be a nice touch in the summer but in March it wasnt a problem
