BaHaoBieYuan guesthouse decoration is made with a rare sense of detail, especially for China. I felt like in Europe. The guesthouse is super clean and you can reach in 2 minutes the hotspots of Fenghuang through quiet streets (which is something appreciable there). The guesthouse street is also very quiet. And you can throw the paper in the toilet (something quite rare too :-D )

I’ve travelled to many parts of China and this kind of designer gem is rare to find. A smallscale boutique hotel with top notch interior decoration, furnishing and architecture, yet with a lowkey personal touch, located just a stone’s throw from the busy tourist area (Hong Qiao old town entrance). And there’s a beautiful little roof top terrace to relax and take in the atmosphere. The owner speaks great English and always responds quickly on Wechat messages, helping out with all sorts of queries before and during the stay.

The walls are thin (which most similar places are as well anyway) and you’ll hear the village life from the alley (no cars though). Just as anywhere in China the beds are much harder than European comfort, but high quality bedlinen compensate for that.
