Nafplion Smart Apartment

We had excellent communication with the host from the offset, so check in was very easy and clear. Apartment was clean and was enough space for a couple. I liked the separate kitchen, which was well stocked with utensils and basic supplies for cooking. Airconditioning worked very well. Apartment is a few minutes' walk from the park and the start of the pedestrian zone and old town area. Lidl is very near, so easy to stock up. Nafplion was a good base for exploring the area: if you are without a car, public transport links are good, or even by foot - we did a good walk to Ieros Moni and Lefkaki.

Very convenient location close to the center of Nafplio with supermarket nearby. It was easy to access and find street parking. The apartment was comfortable for two people, and we appreciated that there was a washing machine. Everything was clean.

This is a review that I didn't want to write, but I feel I need to be honest about the accommodation. First let me say that the host, Aris, does a great job of getting the instructions to you via WhatsApp for accessing the apartment. He is also very helpful in providing information about Nafplio. When I arrived at the apartment it was easy to get in following his instructions. However, when I started to prepare something to eat I encountered two dirty colanders and two dirty and greasy cutting boards. The cutting boards are also made of plastic and are quite cut up. They should not be used any longer as bits of plastic are getting into your food. The two smaller Teflon frying pans are quite scratched and peeling. Again, these should be replaced as consuming Teflon is not recommended. There are no butter knives, only forks and spoons. Some smaller cups for the Nespresso coffee would be helpful, and another glass or two would be nice. Also, some sort of dish drying rack is needed. The bathroom is exceedingly small. If a tall man were to sit on the toilet his knees would probably touch the wall in front of him. The balcony is half a meter deep and unusable as there are no chairs out there, and it's only an elevated ground floor balcony anyway. I found that many things are incorrect from the amenities list on booking.com, first of which is the statement that there is a separate bedroom. There is not; it's a studio apartment. There is no terrace, no city view, no toiletries, no bathrobe, no electric blanket, no desk, no walk-in closet (there isn't a closet at all!), no dryer and the apartment is not detached. The amenities list should be amended. I also don't think that parking should be listed as a given. Out of the four days I stayed in the apartment I had luck one day with parking and the subsequent days I had to drive around and search for parking. Otherwise the apartment is clean, though dark.
