Pomme Hostel Restaurant & Bar - Private Sleeping Cabins

Loved the location, the restaurant below and the best thing was the owner, she really made our stay, was super knowledgeable and even arranged our sleeper bus to pick us up from the hostel

The mattress was a bit uncomfortable and the bathroom has a bit of a weird smell

The staff is very kind and welcoming. The bed was confortable and it’s clean. They also organise good tour!

This hostel was nice and had everything you need: a restaurant and bar serving very good-quality food at reasonable prices, single rooms with single or double beds, hot water, Wi-Fi, and more. It was also pretty clean, and the room had both A/C and a fan. I pointed out that a was a light sleeper and got a room in the back, which I appreciated a lot. The hostel is quite central, and they also offer help with booking tours and transportation. Overall, I had a very nice stay here. The highlights for me were definitely the staff, who were super friendly and helpful, and Sam, my tour guide for the Killing Cave and Bat Cave. He was great and really made the experience enjoyable. I would give it 8.5/10, but Booking doesn't have half points.

I’m going to point out a few things that I think could have been better, because overall, I had a pretty good stay. So these are only details. Wi-Fi: The Wi-Fi was reliable at the bar and restaurant, and I think it was also good in the rooms at the front of the hostel. However, this wasn’t the case in the back rooms, where the connection was most of the time unreliable. A/C: You don’t have control over the A/C in the room. The air comes into the room through a pipe in the ceiling. It was the first time I had experienced this type of system. Personally, I would have preferred to have some control over the temperature. The rooms are maintained at around 24–25°C, which I believe is also quite common in Cambodia. Mattresses: I just want to mention this before you make a booking: the mattresses are quite firm. If you’re not used to sleeping on a firm mattress, you might want to take that into consideration when choosing your accommodation. Also, if you’re tall (around 5'10" or taller), I would say that the single beds might not be the best option for you. The mattresses are fitted between two walls, and my head and feet were touching both ends of the wall. If you’re tall and still want to stay here, you might want to consider booking a room with a double bed instead.

Friendly staff who were great in offering help and advice for tours etc. We visited the bat cave organised by the lady at the hostel who also works with a Tuk-Tuk driver during quiet season to ensure he still has work. This was a really nice touch and he was fantastic and walked with us to the temples above the bat cave and explained everything in great detail including personal experiences. The toilets and showers were regularly cleaned by staff and very quiet. Location is good. Nice atmosphere at night, seem to be plenty locals and travellers at the bar/restaurant most nights.

While the idea of the small private rooms with dorm prices is great, we found them extremely stuffy. We had separate rooms. Didn’t feel claustrophobic, but the lack of air inside made it hard to sleep. The air conditioning is one big unit with multiple hoses going into each room, you could hardly feel it coming in when you put your hand up to it. There is a fan but again it’s blowing hot stuffy air. Beds were hard and uncomfortable, we both struggled sleeping. My partner kept waking up with bites. The lighting inside the room is really poor so it was hard to tell if there was mosquitoes in them. Unsure if it was mosquitoes or something else, but after travelling for 5 months we haven’t experienced waking up with bites before. We ate at the hostel one night and the food was ok, we waited a while but the staff member did say they were very busy.
