Lovely, will stay again next time

Close to the train station, local amenities, shops etc, Room was lovely , on 18th floor with good views of city.

There was no iron or ironing board though but the staff were happy to provide one when we asked for it.

The most horrible room with no light, there was construction right next to our window (added a picture of our window view), we could not open the curtains. In addition the construction work started at 7am in the morning, so no sleep. Also somebody walked into our room in the morning.

Great location- few blocks to outdoor mall and good restaurants . Good insulation. Comfy bed, clean . Well care for a 7 years old hotel. Not too far from Rotterdam centraal station. Safe neighborhood. Friendly staffs.

Comfortable and Convenient, with Some Room for Improvement

Overall, I enjoyed my stay at The James. The staff were absolutely lovely—friendly, welcoming, and always helpful. Our room was clean, well-kept, and the bed was very comfortable, making for a great night’s sleep. The location was fantastic—just steps away from shops, restaurants, and public transportation, which made exploring the city incredibly easy. I would stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a convenient and comfortable place to stay.

There wasn’t much I disliked about the hotel, but I did feel like it was trying to be something it’s not. It presents itself as a boutique-style hotel, but it operates more like a large chain—and that contrast showed in a few ways. One example was the breakfast setup. Charging for small items like honey or milk for coffee felt a bit stingy. While I can see how the à la carte approach might work for guests who only want something light in the morning, it came across as nickel-and-diming, which left a less-than-great impression. Another small but telling experience was when I asked to borrow an iron. I was told I could only have it for 30 minutes, which is understandable in a big hotel with limited equipment. But the real issue was having to carry both the iron and the ironing board from the ground floor up to the 16th floor—and then rush to return it. It just felt unnecessarily awkward and avoidable. A simple solution? Invest in more irons and make them more accessible to guests. None of these were deal-breakers, and overall, my stay was good. But sometimes it’s the little things—like how the hotel handles these everyday needs—that leave the most lasting impression.

Beautiful hotel, greatocation

This is a beautiful hotel in a great location. Spotless and spacious . Professional and friendly staff. The lounge, food court, and gym were great additions Breakfast was no more expensive when paying for each item. Far less waste, which was really good We would recommend this hotel

Whilst pay as you go breakfast was great for less waste etc, everything was prepacked. Better for hygiene, not better for packaging or taste The hotel had low lighting everywhere, which was too dark for us in certain areas. Staff were wonderful, except the lady with the short dyed red hair, who was rude, abrasive, and too "in your face" in the food court. Either have serve yourself based on trust or have someone to serve you.

Very nice hotel in the center of Rotterdam

Hotel was easy to reach by public transport. We left our car at P+R location. The room was spacious and comfortable. There were sufficient number of staff at the reception to help guests. There were many restaurants and bars in the area. Many museums and extraordinary artistic architectural.

The location is ideal, lots of stores and shopping just steps from the hotel. Conveniently within walking distance of Central Rotterdam train station. The hotel is clean and the staff are very friendly. I highly recommend The James Rotterdam and will definitely be staying here again!

Our stay at the James hotel was just lovely, the staff is very friendly and helpful, the rooms have everything you need. Location is also great, main sightseeings are near. We even got a free room upgrade, which made our stay even better.

The LeBron James of hotels 🤩

Really everything! Unbeatable price for such a fancy accommodation. Super nice staff, modern apartment, a lot of space, clean, comfy bed, beautiful view. We were just very pleased by everything we got offered. And one of the coolest things: a mini self-service supermarket?! Like wt.. solved our missing toothpaste problem in a second. Also, we were able to check in earlier because the room was ready and leave our luggage after checkout to see more of the city. The staff was not only friendly but also taking their time to recommend some stuff to see and how to get there. 12/10 experience.

Outstanding

The James is in a perfect location and is more than a comfortable stay. The staff are so friendly and helpful with local suggestions. The hotel is so clean, peaceful and great value for money. Would definitely stay here again without hesitation. We also got upgraded to 2 junior suites which was the cherry ontop of what already would have been a very comfortable stay. Thank you so much to the staff for making this happen!

Just what we were looking for!

Beautiful, modern, clean room with a dark tiled sleek bathroom. We didn't use the breakfast area so we cannot comment but we're very happy about the room we had. Coffee machine and kettle very appreciated. Staff at reception were super nice and helpful! Would definitely stay at The James again on a future trip to Rotterdam. Thank you!

Amazing!

Room was over my expectations. Big space, uptodate modern interior. Absolutely amazing. Room was quiet. This will definitly be my go to hotell for all my Rotterdam visits. Staff was super lovely and helpful.
