High standard and comfortable stay.

Warmth of lodge on arrival. Lovely touch of having snacks too. The toiletries in bathroom were very nice.

The car park at the front of the lodge could have been bigger. Awkward to park. There were no spaces when we arrived so we had to wait as did t want to walk from other car park with all of our luggage - especially as ground was still icy from snow.

A most wun'erful place to stay with fresh berries t'boot!

What a treat - the rural locale no more than a stone's throw from supplies, the lovely castle grounds, the beautiful rooms, the comfy, comfy bed. And the the gift basket with snacks and fresh berries from the farm across the road turned out to be a lifesaver, as we had all manner of transport woes getting to the Lodge, and hadn't been able to get a crumb for most of the day 'til then. Also a testament to the beauty of the place is that once we got inside from the tropical-storm outside, a wave of calm and ease came over us. We suddenly didn't mind that the weather had totally scuppered the day. And we got the best sleep we had throughout our holiday. Breakfast is available just next door at the lodge's cafe, and it's scrumptious (and they have more berries for sale if you eat through the gift basket like we did). Only regret is that we stayed just one night.

Lovely lodge in a beautiful setting

Lovely property in a beautiful setting. Well appointed with everything you need for a short stay. Generous welcome basket included their own grown strawberries and raspberries which were delicious. We ate at the adjoining farm shop and the food was delicious. Location was great for us, just 10 mins from Inverurie. Would defo stay again if we were back in the area.

Not dislikes but a couple of small issues that may help others. We did not realise we had booked a lodge (Seton) that was accessed via an outside wooden stair. Don’t recall that info being shared in any of the ‘blurb’ we read before booking the lodge. Not an issue for us but it would be for anyone with mobility issues. Bedroom has a large window in the ceiling directly above the bed but there is no blind to cover it at night. We stayed over the summer solstice and it was broad daylight from 2.30am, not great for sleeping. Same in the lounge area if you were going to be using the sofa bed.

Unit was small. No batteries in remote for TV so couldn't watch tv in evening. Feather pillow provoked a serious allergic reaction. No obvious trails to explore the property or the farm. Very close to busy road. Would have like to have fold out couch made up in advance, rather than make it ourselves.

Beautiful, and in excellent location

Pristine, large, lovely apartment. Hostess provided the best raspberries we've ever tasted and strawberries were out of this world too. Location is excellent for visiting dozens of castles, stone circles, and the gorgeous Aberdeenshire countryside.

Wish we could have stayed longer! If I had researched more about the area, I would have booked a longer stay!

Beautiful Cottage, Updated, Could Use Some Clear Signs Directing Incoming Guests or Include It In Arrival Information

This was the cutest little cottage & a great way to unplug. My only issues was upon arrival, we pulled into the farm shop & tried to find signage or a place to go to “check in” with someone. After walking around the castle/grounds we finally found someone who told us the door is left unlocked for incoming guests. I didn’t see that anywhere in our check in instructions so I kept wondering what would happen if the farm shop wasn’t open, how we would have known how to get in? Location felt remote however it truly was short distance to a grocery store or food options. Breakfast was arranged at the cafe next door which was lovely, however upon finishing we thought we could walk the grounds & show our toddler the animals or cows considering it was a farm & after clarification you can not see or go near their animals or cows etc. Outside of being near the castle while staying in your cottage, you don’t really get to experience a farm or a castle or even walk around & enjoy the grounds much. That made slightly difficult with 3-4 four old who want to walk & see everything.

Lovely decor with attention to detail. Toiletries were lovely that were provided and the hair conditioner as good as any expensive products I would usually use. Spotlessly clean., also liked how bathroom had underfloor heating, and lodge already warm when we arrived. It lwas great that there was fresh milk, tea and coffee and biscuits and nibbles for when we arrived, after a day of travelling. Visited cafe and shop, had lovely varied breakfasts and some take away food, thank you, used the discount voucher provided. All food we eat was delicious., fresh and we did not have to wait. All staff in cafe were very friendly and hard working even though cafe was busy. Think it was the manageress who even took the time to speak with all customers including having concern for my mum ( who is registered blind). I have recommended to friends, and would definitely book again if in the area.

Wonderful gatehouse

Exceptional quality and finish everything about the place oozed charm and felt like a home from home. Definitely recommend a visit . Welcome pack was filled to brim and even fresh milk in the fridge. For a nice cuppa on arrival. Perfect. Ps wonderful bedding and comfortable bed. Spotless.

Only one thing there was no spatula but chef managed with other utensils available. I’m sure if we had asked we would have been provided one .

Great castle stay

The grounds of the Lodges are lovely and our lodge (Ramsay) had a fantastic view of the castle. It felt magical. The bed was comfy and the kitchen and overall facilities were well stocked and thought through. The farm shop and cafe is EXCELLENT and if you're staying here you must visit it. We had breakfast there both mornings, the berry smoothies are lovely.

Car park is right outside the lodge which is great but on the second day it was completely full so we were unclear on where to park our car.

The guests in the flat above had a party all night.! we did not get any sleep whatsoever and had to go up and ask them to turn the music down at 3am. they continued until 7am. I emailed Barra Lodge to inform them and have had no reply. ver disappointed.

A lovely stay!

Travelling for work, the lodge couldn’t be more perfect. Easy and straightforward access to the property. Provides free private parking. A nice peaceful area. The lodge is very well equipped and has a home away from home feel. A comfortable and pleasant stay.

Excellent stay in Seton Lodge

Great location to explore Aberdeenshire. Plenty of room in the 1 bed lodge for 2 adults and our 10yo’s on the sofa bed. Lovely quality furnishings. Breakfast each morning in their farm shop cafe nextdoor was lovely.

The houses are very clean with everything we need for the night. Perfect for families. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The food in the farm shop café was delicious. Our family had another booking that day, and the staff was amazing arranging the breakfast early for us.

Amazing stay!

Seton Lodge was great, beautiful location and decorated throughout to an amazingly high standard. I would quite happily recommend this to everyone. Sarah and David were right on hand to help with any queries. There is plenty of space to relax and WiFi/phone/tv signal is great, no issues what so ever!

The proximity to quite a busy road! But with the windows closed this isn't really a problem!
