I have been learning Mandarin for a year which came in handy as most staff didn't speak English. Tea and coffee in room but if you want milk you have to buy it from a kiosk in the foyer. The room was clean, comfortable and reasonably priced. The hotel took about 40 minutes to reach by taxi from Pudong Airport and the location wasn't anything spectacular. The high point was the ample and diverse breakfast and service which was 5 star.
Location we should have done a bit more research.

Centrally located, metro stations so close by. Lots of restaurants nearby.
The room was basic, clean and tidy. Water was provided. Bed comfy. Superb shower
It was a bit off putting at first. Didn’t look welcoming. But it was fine, and the staff were very helpful

Location (2 mins walk to east Nanjing road and metro station line 2) and classic modern stylish boutique hotel vibe
