The apartment is a tasteful restoration of a very old house. The location, on the edge of old town, could not have been better. The bedrooms were comfortable and air conditioned. Yannis, the owner was very helpful, and met us as arranged to collect the keys.
The apartment is very well equipped with everything you would need (well, maybe extra wine glasses ;-) )
The Old Town is very lively, however, being off the main alleys meant that the evenings were not too noisy. From midnight onwards, we never heard a thing outside.
Vehicle access is not really possible (unless if you behave like a local ... not a good idea!). You can stop in the alley access by the Erofili Restaurant to unload. Paid parking by the harbor is reasonable, but very busy and fills up early. Parking on Melissinou is expensive (25EUR per day).
Bathroom is very compact, as a result of having to add facilities to a very old building. Not really a negative, given everything else is great!

Die Lage des alten Stadthauses ist top! Ruhig gelegen und doch mitten drin und nah an der Meer mit tollen Tavernen. Die Dachterrasse ist nett, aber zu den Essensstoßzeiten ist der Frittierfettgeruch nicht zu ignorieren. Die vielen Treppen im Haus setzen Mobilität voraus. Eine Stufe ist provisorisch und ziemlich wackelig. Es ist auch ziemlich warm, da nur zu einer Seite gelüftet werden kann und die hohen Decken die Klimaanlage vor ziemliche Herausforderungen stellen. Für ein paar Tage Aufentahlt ist das Haus aufgrund der Lage top.
Die Eingangstür ist schwergängig zu schließen, da sie auf dem Boden aufsteht und die Tür des Hauptschlafzommers sollte geölt werden. Schön wäre auch, wenn die kaputten Glühbirnen in den Lampen ersetzt werden könnten. Aber das sind Kleinigkeiten.

De locatie was midden in het oude centrum van Rethymnon. Als je de deur uitstapt ben je meteen in het centrum met een supermarkt en bakkerij om de hoek. Het was een groot huis met één hele grote slaapkamer, een normale slaapkamer, grote woonkamer en keuken en een dakterras.
Het enig nadeel aan der woning is dat de badkamer een beetje klein is.
