Authentic escape

I chose Zihuatanejo for the same reason the writers did, it's smaller, and quieter and more like a hideaway in real Mexico. I was fully rewarded with all that. The hotel is comfortable and ascending in those efforts. There's a whole great team there daily, managing, supporting, and improving the whole place. I stayed two weeks in a spacious apartment. This was home base with a pool steps away basically to myself most days. The pool for families was on the other side. The fresh food markets are mere steps away with the world's best produce, especially the avacados and the magnificent mangos. So many places to eat, but don't miss the chance to meet Horatio in the café and let him whip you up anything you request for a meal or drinks. Add strawberries from the strawberries lady, and it's your choice, margarita, daiquiri, you name it. Or let him pull you into the real traditions of their culture. I found him a very relatable ambassador to lots of meaningful aspects of Mexico's long held cultural heritage. The main beach is a short walk with a bunch of other beaches and water activities in easy access by walking, biking or taxi. There's a phenomenal blues trio that plays Thursdays, ask the front desk.

I didn't get my dark curtains, nough said.

Great location in Zihuatenej, but needs finishing touches

The property was well located in Centre Zihuatenejo. Near restaurants, beaches, ( princiipal, Madeira), municipal market. No hills to climb.

The suites had no hot water in the shower. I talked to other suites renter and they said the same. I brought it up with the property managers and they did not resolve the issue. Our spacious 1 bedroom suite (2), although in livable condition, was not finished in the bathroom area. There was no tiles on the flooring, walls. They were basic bare concrete. We have stayed in many Mexican style homes and condos, and this complex, which was only built two years ago, needs some finishing work. Having hot water would have mode this less annoying. The shower hardware needed fixing. It can be a very nice unit when completed. They were working on a restaurant section above the main entrance which should be operational shortly. The rent was reasonable. Staff friendly, pool area was nice.

Great week and have already booked our return.

Location in Zihuatanejo is great. Easy walk to the market, a two minute walk to a bakery and laundry. Close to downtown and Playa Madera. Facilities are well-maintained and very clean. Property felt safe and secure. The pool is very refreshing. The units are well stocked in the kitchen to prepare basic meals.

Instructions on how to use the shower would be appreciated. Would love a couple of chairs and a small table on the private balcony.

Good location, but the place is funky and maintenance is lacking.

Great location near the farmers' markets, restaurants, and beach.

There is no signage on the building - no name or number. We drove around in a taxi for several minutes and finally had to call and someone stepped out of the building. We stayed in the large owner's unit - 2 bedroom/2 bath, plus a bunk in the kitchen. On the 4th morning after we arrived, a really bad sewage stench appeared in the apt which ultimately resulted in us being moved to another 1 bedroom apt which was 1/3 of the size we had. We thought we were going to spend the last 2 nights (out of a total of 6 nights) in considerably smaller space and asked for compensation. The issue was ultimately resolved with a bathroom drain being replaced, lots of bleach, and air by late the next afternoon and we were asked to move back to our original unit. Although requested, there was no price adjustment for our inconvenience.

I had a great time, our villa was clean & comfortable, I especially enjoyed the pool!

I liked the location, the cleanliness, & the staff. The rooms were comfortable.

I did not like that some of the sleeping areas were not that private. For example, in our villa, two of the beds were in a bedroom, but the other two beds were in the kitchen area.

The location. Everything was walking distance. The staff was great! Judy, the front desk receptionist, was friendly. Mario, the grounds keeper, was very helpful. Maria, my housekeeper, was very nice. I will return!

Issues with hot water. But, after talking to the owner. He fixed the problem. They bought a new water heater!

A perfect family holiday!

Only everything! It was like this place was made for our family. It was well located, spacious enough for the four of us to feel comfortable and the beds were a delight to sleep in - after my initial scepticism, the big, heavy pillows were absolute heaven! The kitchen was welcome as we like to self cater for breakfast and used the barbecue for dinner. Best of all, however, was the pool, which we enjoyed every day of our stay - it was especially refreshing in the evening, when we chatted and shared beers with the other guests.

This is only a small issue, and one that we solved ourselves, but there was a lack of places to hang bathers and towels to dry. It’s forbidden to hang them on the balconies, but there just weren’t enough hooks and rails in the rooms. We carry s-hooks and clothes lines as we’re on a long trip, and I suggest you bring some too!

The property is gated so it’s secured. If you’re on a budget I guess it should be ok.

They don’t specify that there’s only Air conditioning in one room NOT the whole unit/apartment, beds are not very comfortable. The WiFi is super slow! Extremely slow did not work. I guess I should’ve know for the price, lesson learn.

Las camas son muy cómodas y el lugar muy limpio. El personal atento, nos tocó un departamento de 2 recámaras que ya estaban algo viejitos pero en buen estado.

Las albercas son pequeñas en relación al tamaño del hotel. El estacionamiento tiene un costo de $100 extras, no se si por día xq solo fuimos una noche. Además de que es muy pequeño. No alcanzamos espacio y nos tocó dejar la camioneta afuera, a pesar de que el chico de recepción nos dijo que era una zona segura, nos dijo que si llovía por más de 2 HRS, por su ubican el agua llegaba hasta las rodillas. No nos quedó de otra más que rezar que no lloviera. Te piden un anticipo de 500 que al final t regresan.
