Convento di San Colombo B&B Dimora Storica

Convento di San Colombo is a truly special place, set within a beautifully restored former monastery. The building itself is outstanding, and the surrounding landscape is simply breathtaking. The views are spectacular, including those of the nearby village of Barisciano. All the amenities provided were excellent, and the breakfast was exceptional. There was a wide variety of savory and sweet options, including fresh fruit, local cheeses, homemade cakes, muesli, eggs, and, of course, good coffee. The staff were welcoming, accommodating, and always willing to help, which made the stay even more enjoyable. Overall, a unique and memorable stay that I would highly recommend.

The only minor downside I can think of is related to the building's historic architecture. Sound can carry through the hallways, so if other guests are chatting on their way to their rooms or lingering in the corridors, you may occasionally hear some noise. However, this was only a small inconvenience in what was otherwise an outstanding experience.

This is the perfect place to stay if you are visiting the National Park in this part of Abruzzo. We received a very warm welcome and the breakfast was excellent.

I loved the location of this hotel. It has a beautiful terraced garden with fabulous mountain scenery. The hosts were very friendly and informative. We ate from the bar menu one evening and enjoyed the local lentil soup, followed by mixed hams and cheeses and freshly baked focaccia.

We were disappointed to discover that the half board option was not available during our stay however this meant that we tried several local restaurants which were recommended by our hosts.
