I will not return to Sunset Seaside Apartments & Studios next time.

It was good that there was a parking space for the car. location of the apartment is convenient for guests who like the nearby beach.

I didn't expect the apartments to be below ground level. The apartments were not cleaned during the entire stay (7 nights), towels and bed linen were not changed.

Good location but poor cleanliness

The mattress was very nice! the location was close to perfect

The air conditioner was directly above the bed and the remote did not work properly, so we struggled a lot with that. Also, the property has all these rules about cleanliness and and stuff BUT the shower drain wasn’t draining so we checked it and ir was full of hair! we had to clean it to shower because the water stayed in the shower. Also, not a single washing capsule for washing machine was found in the property.

Beautiful Rethimno

Location close to the beach. Clean and comfortable.

The staff was not so friendly. The bathroom need some improvements . Last but not least the studio was at basement level and cars are parked closed to your terrace.

Perfect choice for a great value apartment in northern central Crete

Sunset Apartments are a great choice if you want a base in Rethymno for spending time on the beach there as well as exploring the island of Crete. We got an excellent price for the basement apartment which was very cool, even in the soaring Greek heat! The beach is meters away, there's a limited amount of free parking (you can find more free parking places in the area too if needed) and there are plenty of shops, bars and restaurants around. The apartment is well equipped and comfortable.

The apartment is identical to the pictures and very functional, it is located in a quiet environment and only 100 meters away from the beach. Nearby there are supermarkets, restaurants, cafes, pharmacies and travel agencies. I recommend it to anyone who wants a pleasant vacation in Rethymno.

We would not return to Rethymon

The fact that whenever you needed something the owner quickly responded.

We were sent photos of the apartment before we arrived and it looked ok, even the photo of the balcony but when we actually got there we realized that the apartment and balcony was below street level, which meant that cars would park virtually on top/next to the balcony, not only was it terribly noisy from 7 am onwards but a awful sight. The water heating system had a timer that you had to activate every time you wanted to shower ( leaving you with only 20-30 minutes time for everyone to do so), the owner changed the space of time for us but you should always have hot water available. The air conditioning was right on top of the bed which obviously could not be used at night due to the position so the room was stifling. Right next to the bed was the entrance door ( no problem) and on top of that was a big green exit light that switched on when lights were off, meaning that at night the room was lit with a green light…this was covered up with a towel the next day by the owner. Such emergency exit lights are placed in lobbies and not in rooms for that there are smaller ones available. We should not need to ask for extra towels as these should be supplied along with the apartment and a change of these once every 4 days was too long to wait for.

Very reccomended

Everything was great! Location is jus 100 meters from the beach, which is clean and not crowded. There are tavernas and shops nearby and it’s around 20 min walk to the center. Manolis was very helpful and hospitable.

Very nice accommodation steps from the beach. Nice area with a lot of restaurants. Everything was perfect. I especially liked that we had a washing machine.

Property was clean, host welcomed us and was at our disposal all the time, yet not assertive. It is very close to the beach and in excellent condition.

During the night due to busy neighbourhood I can get noisy, but nothing unbearable. Kitchen was missing some utensils like bottle opener and cutting board.

The apartment with a fully equipped kitchen & bathroom was located in a small and calm street, very close to the beach! Everything needed was nearby (shops, restaurants, pharmacies, bakeries). 2 min walking to a bus stop. 5 min walking to a taxi station. ~30 min walking to the city center, while enjoying an amazing view! The host was very kind and helpful! We were even allowed to delay our checkout for 3 hours :)

One out of two apartments that we rented had two connected single beds, instead of a double one, which was a bit uncomfortable. Also one hairdryer was missing.

Great apartment in Rethymno

The apartment is very clean, spacious and the staff is very friendly. A little bit far from the center of Rethymno (~40 minutes walk), but that’s ok because we wanted a quiet area to stay and the walk to the centre was very nice. Also, the apartment is very close to the beach, so all in all we were very happy with our choice.

the street is fully loaded with cars and moto and some times is difficult to find a free parking place in front of property.( after a few minute of ”chasing” maybe you will find a parking place on the street near) the appartment was situated at semi-basement and it was a litlle bit noisy.
