very good location and room itself was spacious and comfortable.

in one of the 2 rooms booked, the linens were not clean, the pillow covers stinking and were not usable. had to cover with the a bed sheet which we carried

Great location. I do not know whether you can get better food at Calicut. Excellent room. Excellent view. Excellent receptionist. Excellent staff. Heritage hotel. Hence normal breakfast. Normal toilet, can grade the toilet 3* standard. But overall anybody will like it. No need for a four-star label for this and should not expect that. You will enjoy the stay. But book beach view room. We liked it.

May be the toilet. But can't say it is bad. It is an heritage hotel. So it has the heritage hotel standard. I have stayed in some good heritage hotels earlier. So I think it has the standard.

Great location. Nice heritage style property which could be charming if some professional cleaning effort is done. Service minded staff at the reception.

Breakfast was a lousy, low quality, poorly managed show. It’s not a breakfast buffet, which would be a typical expectation from a hotel of this price class. Furniture in the room is heritage style - means chairs are sturdy class room kind of wooden chairs and not comfy. Instead you are offered a limited menu to choose from in an a-la-carte style. And you get the kind of service where you get sambar 5 minutes after your dosa is delivered. And you need to ask for chutney to go with Dosa!
