Apartmani Fortuna

The apartment was very clean and we had a very large wrap around balcony with a large table and other relaxing seating and sunbeds. The two bedrooms were spacious with very comfortable beds and plenty of storage and TVs. Good sized fridge/freezer in the kitchen and well equipped. There is no oven, but this was not a concern for us. The bathroom has a large shower cubicle with good water pressure. There is air conditioning in one of the bedrooms and the kitchen/lounge area. The hosts, Zlatko and Dragana, could not do enough for us. Neither spoke English (Croatian and German), however we managed using a translation tool on our phones. We were presented with delicious apple pie on arrival, with cheesecake and wine later in the week. Zlatko drove us to the supermarket to get supplies and took us to the ferry port on our departure day...taxi's are VERY expensive! Such perfect and kind hosts. The island is very beautiful. We took the coastal walk from Račišće (the bay where the apartment is) to the main Lumbarda area each day - very beautiful and takes about 15 minutes. Alternatively you can take the road route and walk up and down the hill road and take 5 minutes off the walk. There are some good restaurants (great seafood dishes), but don't expect inexpensive meals. Prices are between 20-35€, although local wine is typically 20€ for a litre and quite good. Friday night there is a weekly Fisherman's Festival where there are "stalls" selling different fish dishes that you can take and eat in the adjacent restaurant. We ate with Zlatko and Dragana that evening. On Saturday the same place had a Slavonian Shepherd's stew night with local music and singing, which was great fun. There are also plenty of wineries in Lumbarda. We went to two - Popić and Lovrić (very good guide) - where we sampled 3 and 4 respectively with nibbles (cheese/meat board). Very good value if you make your own way there.

Apartma nam je bil res zelo všeč! Gostitelja sta bila izjemno prijazna in vedno pripravljena pomagati. Soba je prostorna in udobna, kuhinja ima vse, kar potrebuješ, največji plus pa je terasa z res čudovitim pogledom na morje. Z veseljem bi se še kdaj vrnili!

Amazing stay! The apartment had everything we needed, with a spacious terrace perfect for relaxing and stargazing. The hosts were amazing—so welcoming, with homemade pie, wine, and great recommendations. Highly recommend!

Enostavno smo se počutili kot doma, gostitelja to počneta z srcem in željo, da gostje dobijo po kar so prišli. Dopust kot se spodobi. Pravtako so nam brezplačno omogočili dnevno vožnjo z kolesi, možnost koriscenja vse otroških rekvizitov itd.
