OV Suites "by Checkin"

The location is close to the airport about a 23 minute drive and right on the seafront which is clean and well maintained. The Ocean Seaside restaurant which is not part of the OV Suites resort as such but you access the resort via the front of the open plan restaurant, the staff are very friendly. The restaurant prices are not cheap but affordable and if you're staying at the resort you get 10% off your bills and a good selection on the menu for couple and families. With my deal the breakfast was included and available from 9- 11am in the restaurant wifth a wide, not massive selection of breakfast items such as croissants, ham, cheese, fried eggs and a sort of bacon, along with melon, cereals, jams and chocolate spread etc. The pool isn't a vast size but big enough and never over full plus it's not chlorinated it must be treated sea water so no sore eyes! The sun hits the pool area all day and towels are a plenty and clean and regularly swept and kept tidy.

I don't have many negatives to report on but the pool bar isn't functional as a bar but maybe that's a good thing in hindsight, the reasonably priced supermarket next door has a great range of beers, spirits and mixers there. Reception isn't manned 24/7 but if like me you lock your key in the apartment you can ask at the restaurant and the manager will supply you another short term. The resort has an established look, maybe a little tired but the plant-life is well mainatained and pool walkways mopped. It can be noisy at night being close to the restaurant and beach front DJ but to be expected as they need to entertain punters. All bedrooms had good aircon but sometimes the power on the island or in that area can cut out for an hour or so which did affect breakfast one morning but that's out of the hotels hands to be honest. Security is relaxed with the rear pool gate left open some nights but there are CCTV cameras around the resort.

Buffet breakfast serving the usual items. Home cooked bread was delicious. Food in the restaurant (not the buffet breakfast) was very tasty. They did a good greek coffee.

The hot items, egg, bacon and sausage were cold. You had to ask for coffee or tea, that was not self service. It was difficult sometimes to get the attention and to actually get what you ordered!

Beautiful place, beautiful pool

Looked beautiful on first glance. The maids/cleaners were lovely and worked hard

The place was run down. End of season care. 4 Lightbulbs out, bathroom door (did not glide) and front door broken (falling apart). Odd glasses and crockery. No safe. Outside tub jets in private garden not working. Nearby night club so noisy when staying closer to beach but manageable if staying at back of resort. Bar not functional, all bottles empty and not serving even though open as if it was. Old sheets with holes or iron marks. Comparing next door Galazio Beach Resort it’s chalk and cheese. George lovely friendly guy but think he could do only so much with the resources he had.
