Lība Apartments

Located only a few minutes walk to the city centre, could park my motorcycle inside the premises. The house doesn't look very nice from the outside, but the rooms itself were good. I like that old style "rustic" (means: old, but in good condition, not shabby) charme of the rooms. Everything I needed was there. Was happy with that!

Only small problem was the bathroom or let me say the toilet especially: I've seen toilets were you have to "park in" backwards, but here you have to mind your head too - due to the limted space and the pitch of the roof! ;-)

Old house in the oldtown of Kuldīga. We stayed one night, everything was fine.

If you would like to stay in an old Latvian home, this is the ideal place. The apartment is above the owner's home and candy store. Everything worked well. Friendly hosts. WIFI was good. Biscuits, jam and candy were left for us! We used the kitchen to prepare breakfasts which worked well. The apartment is within walking distance of all sights in town and we used it as a base to explore the west coast of Latvia. Restaurants and grocery stores are also nearby. We were able to park in the back garden which was convenient. Great value!

As others have noted, the twin beds are on metal frames which does create some creaking during the night but was not intrusive.

The place overall was very cosy and we got good night sleep as everything was quiet and overall feeling was “visiting grandma in the countryside”. Cookies with gem and some candies waiting us on the dinner table just amplified that feeling. We really enjoyed the bath. Big bonus was all the small details thought about - like having shewing and basic hygiene packages, all kind of bottle openers and even slippers. All the communication with the staff was excellent. We were able to take our dog with us.

Microwave looked like wasn’t working. For perfectionists the way wallpapers were attached to the walls might be annoying.
