I was travelling solo with no car, Chayofa is a small residencial area up the mountain so I ended up spending more time in the touristic areas than in the property but I found a good balance as the town is well served with buses (for the island)

I liked how clean and well-maintained the apartment was, and how comfortable it felt during the stay

La Casa de Árbol tiene unas vistas increíbles y mucha magia. El jacuzzi limpio e impecable, zonas chill estupendas para tomar algo relajadas, columpio, mesa para desayunar con muy buenas vistas. La ubicación teniendo coche está increíble para coger autovía y moverte. Supermercado pequeño muy cerca. Varios gatitos que a veces aparecian por allí y nos alegraban el momento. Un día no teníamos sal le escribí al dueño y a los 10 min me la trajo. Una casa con alma, diferente, para quien sepa apreciar los detalles y reconocer el arte de hacer las cosas con amor.

Me faltó un micro, una tostadora y un poco más de limpieza profunda, estaba limpio pero sin más. A veces al llegar a la noche no olía muy bien por estar cerrada todo el día... pero ventilabamos un rato y listo. Igualmente aún teniendo esto en cuenta la valoración general es buena porque es un lugar diferente a lo típico que te encuentras por ahí.. Tenía mucho arte y cuidado en la decoración de dentro y fuera de la vivienda.

I really enjoyed the views and the outdoor space. The prepared wine and chocolate were a lovely touch. We were warned about the cats, but I think it was great to have them around. Having a jacuzzi just outside was fantastic, but it was very difficult to arrange usage.

The check-in process was very confusing and actually quite difficult as there weren’t enough instructions given on how to find the correct apartment. The property is split into two apartments; staying in apartment 2 means that you have to enter the space allocated to apartment 1, which can be a bit awkward as the guests in apartment 1 do not expect anyone to interrupt their privacy, which is understandable. The sauna was also located within the outdoor space allocated to apartment 1, which meant that it couldn’t be used if apartment 1 was occupied or it would feel intrusive. The use of the jacuzzi had several rules which made it very difficult to use as you had to readjust your schedule to make time for it. The place inside seemed a bit crowded and the décor was overdone. The bed and the bed sheets weren’t as comfortable as we had hoped; this caused us to wake up several times during the night. Lastly, the communication with the owner wasn’t satisfactory. I didn’t get a response to several of my questions. The phone number to contact the host stopped working throughout our stay. I felt like I was ignored by the host, even though they acknowledged that I tried to call via a text message; further communication was ignored.
