The Capsule Hotel

Affordable stay in a very convenient and strategic location. I stayed for one night, and overall it’s a good option if you just need a place to sleep for a short stay. The capsule was clean and functional, with the basic amenities you’d expect. It’s best suited for travellers packing light, as space is limited and not ideal for bulky luggage. One thing to note is that the lift was not working during my stay. Reception is located on Level 3 and my capsule was on Level 4. It wasn’t an issue for me since I only had a backpack, but it could be inconvenient for those with heavier luggage. Overall, a budget-friendly and practical choice for a quick overnight stay, especially if location and price are your main priorities.

Right in the heart of the CBD, everything is either a short walk away or just a quick train ride. Yes, the lift isn't working, but that's only really an issue if you're unfit to climb 3-4 flights of stairs. This is a capsule hostel, if you're traveling with large suitcases or expecting hotel-level amenities, you're better off booking a hotel instead. The building is a bit dated, but I understand it has historical significance and can't simply be demolished. I stayed in the all-female dorm. The carpet could definitely use a deep clean since the room has a slightly musty smell, but the sleeping cubes are spacious, clean, and surprisingly comfortable. On Friday and Saturday nights, you can hear the noise from the bars and restaurants outside... People shouting, cars honking, and music playing. But I was usually so tired that I still slept soundly. The mattress is thick and comfortable, and unlike the nearby hostels, the enclosed cubes give you a sense of privacy. It almost feels like having your own room. The blinds block light very well, so morning sunlight or someone switching on the lights at night never disturbed my sleep. The other guests were also quiet and respectful throughout my stay. The bathrooms could use some renovation, but they were consistently clean. The shampoo and shower gel dispensers had broken pumps, so I had to open the containers each time I needed to use them. It's surprising that even when the dorm was at full capacity, I never had to wait for a shower or toilet. Compared to other hostels I've stayed at, this place isn't perfect. Aside from a towel, they don't provide basic amenities like a toothbrush, slippers, cotton buds, or cotton pads. But that's OK since I always bring my own, and considering how affordable the accommodation is, I don't think it's fair to expect much more. For someone who values peace, privacy, and being left alone, this place is a little paradise. I'd happily choose it over the social, "party" hostels any day.
