Eliza cottage

Charming period cottage in a great location, very comfortable and spacious for our family of five. Communication with the host was swift and responsive. Very well supplied .

Central location which was great for walking into town and exploring the neighbourhood. I especially liked the Glover track which was about a 6min drive. Hill St Grocer was great and easy walking, especially on the way back down the hill. Beds were comfortable. Appreciated having a washing machine and the heating. Also really appreciate the local eggs, lovely local butter and bread, that was a nice surprise.

Garden and yard looked almost abandoned, so much so that I thought I’d gone to the wrong house. Unfortunately this did impact how welcoming it felt on arrival. House appears to have been left as is from previous owners, and doesn’t appear to have been sorted or particularly presented as accomodation. There was a fair bit of dust and belongings everywhere. Pantry had a lot of spices etc left behind, mostly out of date. Overall was comfortable but not what I had expected as the photos on booking.com appear to have been taken a few years ago.

Wij kwamen met 2 kleine kinderen al vroeg aan van een intercontinentale vlucht. Na herhaaldelijk vragen of we eerder konden inchecken was dat absoluut niet mogelijk. Ze had ons kunnen wijzen op de speeltuin 100 meter verderop met schone toiletten en een supermarkt maar heeft ze dat niet gedaan en hebben we noodgedwongen op het vliegveld verbleven. De bedden waren schoon en opgemaakt maar de keuken en huiskamer waren vies. De badkamer vloer lekte erg na het baden en bleef nat. De verhuurder komt niet sympathiek op ons over en was voor een particulier veel te streng. We moesten een statement formulier invullen dat je betrouwbaar bent, de kosten waren 35 dollar. Waarom moet ik dat betalen en niet de verhuurder.
