Apartment Katherina Sarande

We absolutely loved staying here. We have stayed in many other places and it shows how much care Katherina puts into her apartment. First she met us on the street to show us where to park. When we walked in she already had the window open and it was a very comfortable temperature. There was cold water and beer in the refrigerator and she had her homemade byrek on the counter waiting for us for lunch. The building is older, but built well & well taken care of. There are black out shades on the building, air-conditioning works fantastic, and plenty of kitchen items to make meals. I asked for a chef's knife, a vegetable peeler, casserole dish, and she came down right away to bring them to me. There were extra sheets, extra towels and toilet paper for our seven night stay. In the bathroom she provided laundry detergent, hand soap, shower gel and shampoo. Just a note, while you are in Sarandë you will need to put toilet paper in the trash. Every business had a notice on the door including this apartment. We were able to check in early, the view is fabulous, great wifi, and the elevator worked great. The building is on a corner and opens up to two different streets making walking to different areas easier. The upper exit, 3rd floor, lets out to a flat street with several markets and a great gym only a 10 minute walk away (Stiv Fitness Gym 700 ALL day pass). It is an 8 minute walk down the hill to the water. Katherina has several recommendations for restaurants. If going to Kasmil and you're looking for a relaxing place (no music) with good food go to Hidden Bay Beach Bar (1,500-1,000 2 loungers & shade). We also really enjoyed Heaven Beach (2,000 2 loungers & shade). If you are a good swimmer, from Heaven you can swim (40 minutes, 1.25 kilometers each way) to a private cove with pebble beach. From Heaven go out of the cove and turn left, but stay close to the cliffs.

The bedroom was a little small. The full size bed was pushed against the wall making it difficult for someone on that side of the bed to get out of the bed. The photos clearly show it, and there is nothing that could be done to change it. Just a heads up. My husband was fine with it.

An extra room key would have been helpful.

Great location, close to everything we needed. Katherina met us on our arrival, explained everything, communicated straight away when we had any questions and was extremely kind and helpful throughout, even brought us homemade cake on our first morning – such a lovely gesture! We really enjoyed our time here and would definitely recommend!
