Fantastic

The room was very clean, just a bit dated ( not a complaint, it suited us). All the staff were welcoming friendly and helpful. The FOOD, I cannot praise this enough, it was plentiful and delicious. The lunch, the evening meal and the breakfast. I would say don’t eat here if you are on a diet.

Pleasant stay at Calf's Head Hotel

Lovely looking Hotel in a quaint village. Ample parking on site. Friendly staff. Room was comfortable and the shower over the bath was good. Nice bar area to have a drink in the evening. We had a nice dinner in the conservatory restaurant with friendly staff. Had a nice decor which is where breakfast will be served. Breakfast was very nice and well presented. Had a nice view looking out of conservatory. Great rate to include a generous breakfast.

The room could do with some bedside tables with sockets next to it to charge phone as we use it as our alarm to wake up. A luggage rack to keep cases off the floor. The bathroom could do with shelving to put toiletries on it had enough space in our bathroom. (room5). The vegetarian breakfast was way too big with lots of starchy food. A member of our family ordered one and it had 4 big fried potato wedges, a bowl of onion rings, hash browns and toast was offered too.Along with the veg sausages, tomato and fried mushrooms. Sadly a lot was left on the plate. Although good value, far too much food. Maybe offer a regular or large size along with the english breakfast as well. We had to cancel our last stay here and booked somewhere else because they didn't allow dogs to stay in rooms.

Amazing.

I had a wonderful time experiencing authentic British culture at this hotel. As a foreigner, I found everything here absolutely amazing! The staff were incredibly friendly, and both breakfast and dinner were great value for money. We tried many traditional British country dishes, and they were simply brilliant! I will definitely be back!

Lovely stay

Room was lovely and spacious with a huge comfy bed and jacuzzi bath. Plenty of tea coffee and biscuits. Also plenty of toiletries in bathroom. The room was quirky, with unusual decoration, but very homely and immaculately clean. Staff were all very friendly especially the lady that served us breakfast and the cleaning ladies. We were part of a party of 35 for dinner. The food was enjoyable and all came out together and nice and hot. Breakfast was great, with really nice sausages and bacon. Beautiful conservatory with wonderful views of the garden. Would definetly return.

Lovely looking country pub with excellent, friendly staff. Stunning gardens with superb views. Cosy, clean rooms with attentive staff. Food was lovely and our stay was an excellent price. We will definitely go there again.

Pleasant stay with good hearty food, and clean accommodation

Room was fairly good, although the cold tap didn't work in the bath, so bath was scalding hot, had to use shower head to cool it down which took ages !but we got there in the end. Room was warm, and although somewhat old fashioned, was quite comfortable. Tea and coffee etc was provided, which was nice. The food, both for the Birthday party we attended, and for the next day's breakfast, was very good, plentiful and tasty, served with a smile ! Staff were pleasant, and helpful ! Thank you.

Rooms were wonderful - nice tea & coffee, very clean, warm, great shower (in my room). Breakfast was wonderful as was dinner on the day we arrived.

Lovely stay before Xmas

Fabulous two-night stay just before Xmas. Friendly and considerate staff who were really relaxed (in a good way!). The jacuzzi bath after walking up Pendle Hill was just what my body needed. Tasty food and menus for all. Very quiet in the room, with plentiful supplies of tea bags and biscuits. Great walking from the door.

Good dinner, staff were helpful and friendly. Looked like a pretty village but it was dark, so I didn't investigate.

My room was on the end. Very cold, even with the extra heater. Window was wide open on arrival, even though it was around 4 degrees outside. Very small room, and dated. Bedspread was stained. Breakfast buffet was limited. Menu said pastries etc, but no signs of those (should I have ordered these?) My fried egg wasn't cooked (white still runny).

A really lovely place to stay with great Gluten Free menus. Will definitely return.

The staff were so friendly and welcoming; especially the lady in the breakfast room, she was so kind and helpful with my daughter with her Gluten Free options. The evening meal menu and breakfast menus were great for Gluten Free. The room was spacious and the shower was lovely and hot. There wasn't anything not to like.

Cosy, relaxing and food to die for

Lovely cosy fire for a nice relaxing drink when we arrived after work. Extremely friendly staff (both on the bar and in the restaurant, as well as at breakfast) and the food was absolutely fabulous. We upgraded, so the room was lovely and the views were even better.

the room was very small and not much room either side of the double bed. the room should be a single bed room also there were steps to go up into the ensuite. whilst only two steps difficult to deal with in the dark at night. i tripped over the step the first night

food was exceptional as were the staff, great choices at breakfast. rooms again large and great, tea/coffee in the room. Open log fire was very nice and the evening meal large portions and great choices. Good beer choices as well. So nice to see such happy staff, will stay again. Parking good.

Not good value for money. Certainly not 4 star. Rooms are very dated and smelly. Noisy at night due to lack of sound proofing. Breakfast was okay, lack of options. Not great value for money

Room 6 was cold - radiator didn’t work in room / noisy / hearing the use from adjacent rooms using water/bathroom Facilities/ window rattling in the wind - dated furniture - tacky looking carpets in lounge , no entertainment - food menu expensive
