Lovely location on the edge of Chinon for a touring base of The Loire and The Vienne.

Great location for touring the area. Very quiet. Private parking Charming Host Loved the half hour walk into Chinon along The Vienne. It suited our needs perfectly.

You did hear noise from above at times.

Interesting locations good views

Good location plenty of walks behind the property to view old French properties, vines and distant views mile and half walk to Chinon passing 2 wine caves. Good selection of restaurants in Chinon and interesting buildings including the chateau. this was our fourth visit and plan to go back next year.

Good location but not suitable for two couples. .

We were greeted warmly by the owners mother who went to some effort to put up an umbrella on the terrace. The upstairs area with two bedrooms and bathroom were very clean. The large kitchen table was lovely to sit around. The location was excellent for visiting Chinon.

It was not suitable for two couples. The living room did not sufficiently seat four people and the one couch was stained. The coffee table needed a good clean, some of the dishes were dirty and some cracked. There was very little in the way of condiments, hand soap, hand towels and toilet paper. The bedrooms upstairs consist of one double and two children’s beds with a thin door between. This should have been noted in the listing. Also, the terrace does not have river views and the bbq was full of ash, dirty and unusable.

Impressive building outside. Conveniently located.

We were misled by the owner relating to the suitability of access to the upper floor where the beds and bathroom were located. The 15 stairs to this area were steep and curved. Impossible for our 80 odd year old companions to transverse. The owner said they were simple and OK for elderly….Not So! We had to find alternative accomodation at short notice for our ladies (extra expense and much inconvenience!)

Town centre was about a 20 minute walk from house however lovely walk along the river made up for length of stroll.

This was our second visit to this property. It is a large spacious property with a large Kitchen dinner separate lounge and 2 bed rooms. good on site parking with a lawn area with table and chairs for eating outside. barbecue provided.

Fantastic gite well located to tour the Loire.

The Gite is located 2.5km from Chinon. Communication with Beniot, from initial booking to leaving was superb. On arrival we where made feel very welcome and shown the property. The gite is centrally located to visit alot of château and cities with Tours and Samur being within 1 hrs drive. The Gite is well equipped with everything needed for a family, right down to cool packs in the freezer. Benoît was on hand throughout our stay via messages always willing to help. We had access to bikes to suit 4 adults which where great for running in to Chinon. Ebike hire and Canoe hire are available in Chinon, the beautiful green path from Chinon to Richaleau is perfect for a family day out by bike, totally offroad. The highlight of our 2 weeks was Bastille day in Chinon, the morning market, parade and finally fireworks and light show. Simply Amazing.

Superb

Great location. The host was warm and charming. Very close to the central train station. This is a huge home that is split into 3 or 4 different apartments for short term rent.

No real public transportation. The people in these city were rather cold and just mean! My phone died and I went into a hotel near by to call the host of this home, I was asked if I was a guest of the hotel, when I told the attended "No" I was swiftly put out! ( I am a young women who was traveling alone, btw) This same thing happened in a near by "pub". Their are some hidden charges; sheets = extra charge, towels = extra charge, do not clean you vacation home = extra charge!!! Add all this into the price when booking.
