I thought the staff and management were excellenet. Really looked after us from the moment we arrived and nothing was an issue. We asked to changed rooms and they did so with any trouble and were always contactable if we needed anything.

I don't have much complaints. My only comment or feedback is that they should show actual pictures of the rooms or houses you are staying in to give you a better idea as they have a whole range of houses within the village.

I was scheduled to be in Suzhou for four days and stayed for 12! Tongli Village and the Slow Life Homestay were the difference that kept me there in this city of canals. Staff were attentive and so helpful in anything I needed! I felt like part of the family. Though the Tongli Village is about 40 minutes from Suzhou city, it was perfect for me: quiet, culturally rich, diverse in hisrtory, food, and so interesting. I experienced local customs, food, and music without the busyness of the big city. I will definitely stay here when I return to China.

Adaptability is definitely important when one chooses to stay in older, more culturally rich areas. It's worth the effort!

The staff is fantastic, he helped us at the arrival and at the departure because no taxis were available for the route Tongli-Shanghai. The location is great and from the room the view of the village is amazing. The room had a tea pot and a tea sample for breakfast. And when needed we could get free bottles of water. The water from the tap and shower has a chemical smell so the bottles of water were essential for brushing the teeth.

There is no privacy in the room, especially in the bathroom. The bathroom doesn't have walls but glasses/plastic covers. The room wasn't perfectly cleaned and the facilities were old and not well maintained.
