Ponte Romana

It was exactly what I wanted. It is run by a very kind Portuguese family that cares about their guests and ensures you are not lacking anything!

All was great.

This was by far the best place we stayed at during our Algarve trip. It is part of a working orange orchard on the banks of the Arde River yet 5min walk into the historic centre. You can clearly see the castelo from the roof top terrace and from the small but lovely swimming pool. Breakfast is included in the price and you have one of Silves best restaurants on your doorstep also run by this Portugese family who are incredibly warm and kind. Plenty of parking space too. We were there in March and the smell of the orange blossoms was incredible. Super clean and quiet! Try it 😄

There was nothing I did not like.

I had a really quiet room. Catarina and staff were incredibly helpful, kind and so accommodating to making me feel so welcome. Also gave me great tips on local services. Also the restaurant was so good with equally great service.

It was a pity the bridge was being restored, but this doesn't change my score. You just had to walk a little further to town. Not a problem.

We stayed at the Ponte Romana In September 2025 for a week and it was an amazing stay. Katerina really is the beating heart of this hotel alongside her partner Bruno and his mum and dad and not to mention their beautiful little boy who you often see around the hotel. All the staff have worked at the hotel for years so it just shows it’s a lovely family fun affair. The breakfast is amazing something for everyone and different items each morning it almost makes you excited to see what’s on offer each day. The rooms were clean and traditional with air conditioning and we had a beautiful view of the castle. We found the hotel quiet and the restaurant food was very nice. It was a short stroll into Silves via a short cut which Katerina will show you as the main bridge over to Silves is having work done and was out of order when we stayed. They have a beautiful pool a lovely orchard with fruit trees and sheep at the bottom of the garden which my husband liked as he fed them every morning. There are also hammocks hanging in the orchard to chill on which was nice although I fell out of it😂. Great gypsy market on a Monday in Silves near Aldi. By the time we were leaving we were sad as we felt like we had been accepted as part of the family even getting invited to sit at the family table in the restaurant with the wonderful Great Grandad Manuel who is 94 years young and he is amazing. We are going to stay again next year and can’t wait
