Welcome to Buena Onda!
This one bedroom casita is simple but beautiful. The one bedroom, with king sized bed, opens up to the main living area by means of a barn style door. The kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances, including coffee maker, blender, toaster and crock pot. The back patio, covered by a rancho, is the perfect place to enjoy a meal, watch the birds over morning coffee, or ignore the world and read a book in the hammock. There is an A/C unit in the bedroom and an extra outdoor shower to knock the salt and sand off after your surf session. Custom made couch converts to two twin beds to sleep additional guests, with quality sheets for all the beds. Sorry, no TV (you won’t miss it!) but the house is equipped with WiFi.
Buena Onda is located within the eco-minded, gated community of Finca Del Mar. Just a few minutes walk away, Los Cardones Eco Lodge provides beach (and surf!) access, as well as delicious restaurant meals and cold beer. In addition, the friendly staff can assist you with surf board rentals and lessons, massages, yoga classes, and local knowledge.
So pack a book and some board shorts, and come see why Nicaragua has become a coveted travel destination. We are only 90 minutes from Managua airport, but it feels like a different world.

The house is perfectly located in a private area with only a few houses, each with some distance in between. There is more or less only one real neighbour and one eco lodge with a restaurant some hundred meters away. There is another restaurant and a small shop outside the private area.The beach is in walking distance, but there are also 2 bicycles you can use.
The kitchen of the house is equipped with everything you need and the wifi signal is really strong. The veranda and garden of this private house are also gorgeous and the bathrom is very nice.

La casa es muy linda y comoda, todo funciona muy bien, todo muy limpio, con muchos juegos para los niños. Muchas gracias, fueron unos dias muy lindos.

First time to Nica and we nailed it! Couldn't get any better than this place if you're looking for a remote, relaxing, reading, surfing, beaching, eating and drinking (repeat) get away. On any given day we shared a 2km beach with at best 5-10 people. The house is incredible. Bed super comfy. We were there over Christmas and even on a 30 degree sunny day the breeze kept us cool enough at night to sleep but there is A/C if you need it. Beautiful wood work throughout. The property manager Janelle went above and beyond arranging transportation, provisions, and tours during our stay. We felt so welcomed and taken care of by Janelle and her family. If you're lucky you'll get to help release baby turtles at the near by Eco Lodge (Los Cardones - a two min bike ride down the road) where you are in harmony with nature. We used Penny's fully equipped kitchen mostly but ate a few meals at Los Cardones and their food was incredible with really cheap cold beer ($1.50!) and meal prices are reasonable ($4-6 dollar appies). Family friendly, amazing sunsets, beautiful remote isolated beach with great surfing - whats not to love?! All our pictures we posted on social media the comments were: where is everyone? We've already recommended this place to numerous friends. It was a treat to stay in a home instead of a hotel. You have to see it to believe it.
