A fairytale challet in the frozen forest

It’s a magical little house very comfortable for a family of four but would say that can do great for a bigger family with 5 or 6 members including teenagers. It is in the forest but still walking distance from the shops and the lake. The sauna is a highlight as well as the kota nearby where you can enjoy a campfire. The sledges and the fat bikes were also of good use. The host is easy to communicate with. The kitchen is renovated and fully equipped. There is a fireplace inside the cottage, which creates a very cosy atmosphere. There is also a washing machine which was very useful. The place is fantastic and feels like you are in a fairytale. We would love to return.

There were some items on the upper balcony that looked like someone is still doing some works but didn’t bother us at all.

True winter fairytale! :)

It is like a winter fairytale!!! We loved it. The property is located at the end of the road thus it is totally quiet and peaceful there. No cars passing by. The house is nicely decorated and is very clean. It gives a feeling that you are at home. You do not even have to go out - the view outside the window is already perfect enough. The kitchen ist very narrow and a bit outdated but still has everything needed. We also used tipi one day, very good addition. And of course sauna - nice and clean.

Well, it would have been good to have a dryer, but I understand that there is no place for that.

I turned 50 in this special magical place and will never forget.

We loved everything about Hillankukka, it’s the most magical cabin in the woods. Really clean and everything you need is there. One thing to know is that you don’t need to buy a sledge as there are lots already in the bike shed to use.

Front door gave us issues when trying to open it. Pretty small kitchen to be able to cook for 7 people.

Everything, very nice and clean cottage, all properly working. Many facilities (sledges, fat bikes, etc). Helpful and reactive owner.

An extra sink eg in the shower room would be very helpful staying with 2 families.

Very good

We were tired after a drive though snowstorm and got the key to The cabin a bit early. The children were hungry but we came to a cabil who wasn't clean and there wasbt any tolietpaper. I accidently called the owner to complain. Then came the cleaner who was upset that we came early... It didnt feel good for us.

Beautiful cottage near everything.

The cottage is beautiful, great atmosphere, near every key places. Summer hiking routes just right there, and the shop and services were also near. Reindeer were visiting the yard too. Great for families, very quiet place. Kitchen well equipped with utensils. Overall great place.

The key must be picked up from Ylläsavain office which is open only from 10-16.00. After that, there are specific instructions on how and where to get the key. After 700 km drive with young children and arriving in the evening, the last thing that you want to find is that your key isn’t available. They started to fix it immediately when we called but it took a while. There wasn’t enough toilet paper or kitchen towel there. We asked for more and they confirmed that the amounts are limited.

Heerlijk!!

De rustige ligging, de sfeer. De nieuw gerenoveerde keuken. Het huisje was comfortabel warm. De kota (gedeeld met de buren) was erg leuk! De sauna is fantastisch. De eigenaar reageert snel, de incheck gaat nu via een sleutelkastje naast de voordeur, perfect!

Het tweepersoonsbed was klein (140x200) en de bedden moeten bij aankomst nog opgemaakt worden. De ventilatie maakt best wat geluid en moet aan blijven staan.

Tolle, gemütliche Hütte in ruhiger Lage!

Eine tolle, gemütliche, rustikale Hütte mit geräumiger Sauna in ruhiger Lage! An Ausstattung hat es uns nichts gefehlt. Es war alles da. Alles war sehr sauber. Die Küche wurde scheinbar renoviert bzw. neu aufgeteilt und ist nicht mehr so eng wie auf den älteren Bildern und Bewertungen. Toll war auch, dass wir die beiden Fatbikes aus dem Schuppen nutzen konnten, um die Gegend zu erkunden. Mittlerweile gibt es auch eine Schlüsselbox, was den Zugang erleichtert. Die Kommunikation war jederzeit super. Vielen Dank für den tollen Aufenthalt. Hatten eine sehr schöne Zeit und haben es sehr genossen.

Für unseren Geschmack könnte der Sofa-Bereich etwas gemütlicher sein. Der Charakter der Hütte ist eher rustikal. Das muss man berücksichtigen. Hat uns aber nicht gestört und fanden es sehr authentisch.
