The Ritz-Carlton Jeddah

The hotel makes a strong impression even before you enter with its massive structure which is very grand and regal. It looks more like a palace instead of a hotel. The check in was super fast. This hotel oozes calm and tranquility. The lobby is opulent with over the top use of marble and mosaic work which is intricate. The rooms are beautifully appointed and has everything you can ask for. I have been to several 5 star hotels around the world but the first time i have seen complimentary glass water bottles in the room. This is a sign for those who understand luxury. The housekeeping staff would spend more than half an hour cleaning and fixing our room which I have not experienced before in any hotel. The room also came with a very high end retro looking radio which particularly caught my attention. Breakfast in the Reyhana restaurant is something I will remember forever. Everything was super high quality and the decor the ambiance was serene with views overlooking the red sea. To wrap it up in a way on one hand I felt time has gone by super fast and I would have liked to extend my stay yet at the same time there were moments when I felt time has stopped.

Well when we arrived at the hotel I had to look for the porter to help me with the bags. Moreover I found the mattress and pillows slightly more soft than I would have preferred.

The hospitality and the professionalism of the staff. Everybody was well-trained and had a common goal for me as a customer to enjoy myself.

I believe the gym needs to be expanded and renovated. Also, an outdoor swimming pool would be great

Interior

I am extremely disappointed with the level of service I experienced during my stay. At check-in, the receptionist failed to return my passport and did not inform me that it was retained. This was only discovered at checkout, causing severe stress as I had a flight to catch. Despite multiple calls and personal visits to the reception, the staff member handled the matter very casually, failed to return calls, ignored the urgency, and only checked after I insisted strongly. This level of negligence is unacceptable, especially when it involves a guest’s passport. Such a serious lapse should never happen. If a passport is mistakenly retained, it is the hotel’s responsibility to immediately inform the guest and properly hand it over to the next shift. This was clearly not done. Additionally, a simple request to Room Dining for English Breakfast Tea sachets was completely ignored. This is not the standard of service expected from a reputed hotel chain. I suffered unnecessary stress purely due to staff negligence, and this experience has left a very negative impression. I expect this matter to be taken seriously
