Hilton Tanger City Center

Swimming pool on the 13th floor. Nice big room. Comfortable bed. We ate at the Moroccan restaurant and it was superb. Fabulous fabulous breakfast too! Pretty quiet for all the chaos out on the street. (Would be an ideal location for train travelers)

Bathroom had maintenance issues. One was repaired immediately. Bar drinks, as usual for a hotel, are way too expensive. A little too far from the historic district and shopping bazaars, requiring a taxi ride each way.

I didn’t like the fact that when you get to the hotel even though you’ve already paid booking.com you still have to pay VAT taxes that should be all included in the price. It just confuses things. Apart from that really had a great time Starr was fantastic,

A very nice five-star hotel with breakfast on the 15th floor overlooking the sea. The rooms meet the expectations you would have from a Hilton. Nothing was missing—an iron, fridge, bottles of water, and a coffee and tea set were all provided. The bathroom had both a bathtub and a shower, with a separate toilet. The room was quiet.

You can find a few minor drawbacks. Most rooms don’t have a sea view. The breakfasts are quite extensive, but in the end a European tends to choose from just a few items such as eggs prepared in various ways, cheese, pastries, and vegetables. I missed a selection of ham, which was very limited. I would also expect a fruit salad—it was only available occasionally. Coffee or tea is served to you, which can sometimes be inconvenient because you have to call a waiter who may start to ignore you a bit (unless you tip at the beginning). That was probably the most annoying part for me—I think a good-quality coffee machine would be a better solution here.
