Lovely boutique hotel, well situated, really friendly staff

The location was excellent, right by the harbour and within easy walking distance of the market, restaurants and everything we wanted to explore. The hotel itself is beautifully designed, with lots of thoughtful attention to detail throughout. Our room was bright, airy and spacious, with lovely big windows that let in plenty of natural light. A really stylish and comfortable place to stay.

Sadly, there are no tea or coffee-making facilities in the bedrooms, which I found quite disappointing. Breakfast isn’t served until 8:30am, so if you’re an early riser like me, it’s a long time to wait for that first cup of coffee! On the first morning around 8am, I went into the dining area and asked if I could make myself a coffee. It was a simple pod machine, so I was more than happy to sort it out myself and didn’t feel I was causing anyone any extra work. Unfortunately, the staff member seemed quite put out by this and repeatedly muttered that breakfast wasn’t until 8:30am. I was made to feel as though I was being a nuisance for simply wanting a cup of coffee. For the remaining mornings, I ended up walking into town to buy a coffee instead. There are some great coffee shop It’s a small thing that would be very easy for the hotel to resolve, either by providing tea and coffee facilities in the rooms or allowing guests to make themselves a coffee before breakfast without feeling uncomfortable. A morning coffee really shouldn’t be too much to ask for a boutique hotel like this one.

Lovely room, great breakfast and friendly staff

The room was spacious, modern, and comfortable. The shower, though, was the highlight. Nothing better than a good shower after a long day exploring. The breakfast was simple but pleasant, and included fresh orange juice and local meat, cheese, and pastries. The location was excellent for access to the old centre.

The parking was a lottery. We often had to drive up and down the road waiting and hoping a space would open up in order to secure free parking near the hotel.
