Location, interesting old building.
Tatty, broken fixtures and fittings, no breakfast.

Beautiful apartment, warm, meticulously clean with gorgeous period features in the heart of old Troyes.
Outside security light which illuminated the whole courtyard from the neighboring property was on all night, it was so powerful it was like daylight, even the heavy blackout curtains couldn't prevent the intense light seeping in around the edges.

Staff went the extra mile to make sure we were OK. Everything was simple and accessible.
main point of contact was in hospital when we first arrived so nobody there to greet us. He sorted it out and we had no issues with access to the property thereafter.

Tye location of this accommodation is ideal for exploring Troyes
Overall the accommodation was poor. The toilet was extremely difficult to flush. The sofa looked like it had been dragged out of a tip and covered over with an old blanket. The entrance area is like a junk shop and there was a musty smell in the room. Parking your car was difficult with a poorly lit entrance. We stayed in the apartment for 5 mins and left to find something habitable. I tried to contact the owner numerous times before writing this but had no response. The description does not reflect the accommodation...

Quirky aparment in a very old building, but had been renovated in a modern style. Comforable and spacious alhough showing some signs of wear and requiring a small amount of maintenance. The kitchen area was small and not well planned (the handle on the oven door sopped the dishwasher door from opening, so to use the dishwasher you had to pull the oven door down and then you could partially open the dishwasher door and squeeze in the dishes).
Great cenral location.
Quite difficult to find in the dark (we arrived at 5pm in winter). Entrance was via a solid gated, narrow archway in a poorly lit side street leading to an inner courtyard where there was parking. There was a small hotel sign but not very clear. We had not been given a code to open the door but here was a telephone number which we rang. We were given the code and told to approach the entrance straight on as it was so narrow. It would not have been possible with a large car or van.

Horrible 2 bedrooms apartment, the apartment was filthy and most facilities unusable! The entire place is run down, uncomfortable and dingy. The parking is very difficult to access, reception closed most of the times, the kitchen was so filthy we couldn’t use it. Couldn’t wait to leave.
Absolutely nothing

The location was excellent. The room was adorable, clean, old fashioned but in a lovely way! It really captured the essence of the town.
We added breakfast on which was simple but perfect.
Not a lot really. No negatives to say.

Super friendly and helpful staff. Great location. Funky "shabby chic" rooms. What's not to like?

We liked staying in this very old building with squeaky floors . The apartment was very spacious .
Parking access within property was a bit tight,

Location was good. Close to everything the city is good for.
The place was attempting "shabby chic" but really this seemed an excuse for it to be unkempt.

The hotel is centrally located.
The owner wasn’t transparent about fees for car parking.
Instead of paying the additional €20 we opted to use a free car park. Transporting heavy cases from a car park to the hotel and then up 2 flights of stairs was not the start we hoped for after a long drive from London.
The buildings are ancient and of course fascinating and clearly part of the appeal but the apartment had clear signs of damage such as to plaster board. Little things like fixing the toilet roll holder, providing soap in the toilet and being able to open the velus window would be appreciated.

Breakfast was very average - overpriced
Room was tatty - can’t understand a Five star rating
The room was tatty - certainly not 5 star and would never have met expectations.
The shower tray flooded, there was an eclectic mix of junk in the kitchen. The staff were great but the owners need to spend a bit of money on the place.

The location was great.
A. We booked a parking space, which wasn’t available when we arrived so had to park elsewhere. Not a good start!
B. The breakfast option was poor. We would have had to have it left outside the door the night before and we would then have to take it in and put in the fridge. The idea then would be to heat up croissant etc in the oven in the room. A few big problems,
1. We were out for the evening, so any food would have been left to moulder in the 35 Deg heat from 20.00 until we got back at 23.30.
2. The knob was missing from the oven!
3. The coffee machine didn’t work and there was no one at reception in the morning to deal with the issue.
4. As a result we had a great breakfast out at a local cafe for €22 and the hotel were going to charge €30 for their poor option!!
C. The toilet stank of stale urine. Probably from it soaking into the timber floor in the toilet. Not a good idea.
D. If you wanted to use the dishwasher it wasn’t possible as the door clashed with the oven door and therefore couldn’t be opened.
E. The room smelt musty and unused.
F. The staff on duty were very apologetic about the parking etc, but only one of them could deal with us (from the two on duty) and we were kept waiting 15 minutes before being dealt with at reception.

Room was a little tight spacewise

This has to be the cutest, and probably oldest, hotel I have stayed in. Checking in was easy and speedy, and we were shown to our room, not just left to find it ourselves. If you like quirky, you will love this hotel. Showers in the bedroom, toilets in cupboards, hidden second bedrooms, unexpected balconies.....the list goes on. There is limited private parking
The hotel is situated very handily for a stroll to the restaurant area, and there is history everywhere you look.
The parking is very limited, and some of the spaces are small. There is aircon in the living room, but not in the bedrooms.

A beautiful medieval Restored building in the heart of the historic centre in Troyes. The room was very space and well equipped . Pierre the owner and his staff were so accommodating and pleasant that nothing was too much trouble. The private courtyard was a lovely place we could use for our lunch and private parking available upon request . We most certainly will be returning on our next trip . Many thanks until next time! Beautifully located in the old Town. Just fabulous. Proper history and proper people.
All was good.

It was a privilege to stay in such a typically french historic building. The hotel was modernised sympathetically whilst honouring the integrity of the original imperfect medieval architecture.
There was nothing not to like. The washing facilities were modern, the beds were comfortable, the hosts were charming and helpful, some of the rooms were faithful in appearance to appartments of the 16th century and looked down onto secluded courtyards.

The location was great, within a few minutes walk of the Old Town. The owner was very hospitable and helpful. We had to leave early the following morning and we had a breakfast delivered the night before. It was absolutely wonderful! The room was large and incredibly comfortable. The only point to note is that if you drive a large car it can be tricky navigating the entrance and small car park. Having said all that, parking on site is a bonus and the owner was very helpful in navigating us into the car park. It’s definitely recommended to pre-book the car park if you want a space as it’s very limited. Would highly recommend and would definitely return.
