Old style historic pub on central market square. Top floors are renovated with a modern feel and beautiful ensuite bathrooms. Can be a little patron noise in the front rooms, but we had a large room at the back and it was completely silent of any pub noise. All of the staff we encountered were welcoming and efficient- shout out to Will. Had a good standard pub dinner and breakfast.
There are a number of steep stairs, so large bags are better left in the car. Those with mobility issues may struggle. Free carpark was great- it’s a 5 min walk away so again I’d leave large bags in the car. Carpark is secured overnight.

The hotel was great the staff were friendly, Will was great for our two night stay. We were leaving early on the Sunday before breakfast but they allowed us to have the cereals etc early. I was concerned about noise from the pub but we did not hear anything. Aircon in the rooms was great in the heat wave. Free parking close by.
Very steep stairs up to the 2nd floor, cant be helped due to nature of the pub. The heavy fire door make a loud thud every time they shut which was a lot on the Friday evening.
Unfortunately there was no chef avaliable to get food on Saturday evening but plenty of places near by.

Staff were friendly and helpful. My room was spacious and the bed large and comfortable.
